Barkley not looking very good so far

Freshmen eventually make freshmen mistakes.   The real test will be how he bounces back from the adversity later in the game--  for all the OSU dominance statistically, they're up 3 points.   That can't bode well for them.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

Is Barkley getting it rolling?  He's had several completions over 10 yards in the last couple drives......although I don't have tv so those could have been catch and runs.

If USC becomes 2 dimensional again, do they start rolling?

There are still timing issues;  he's hitting the tall outside receivers on balls they have to go up and get, rather than hitting them in stride.    He's settling down a little, but he's not on a roll yet.

Why is he still referred to as Damien "the transfer from Arkansas" Williams? Do they have to bring it up everytime he catches a ball?

Replay has been overused so far this season.  Killing the flow of the game.  And officiating isn't any better.

Why in the world is OSU not blitzing Barkley?

They haven't shown the speed on the edge to get to him, and the guys they've brought up the gut have largely been picked up extremely well by SC.    They've backed off the blitz efforts a bit this drive, though.

well I know everytime he makes a play, I think "damn I wish we still had him" (but of course I know I know if he an MM hadn't of left we'd still have HDN yadda yadda) It still looks like he's their only real weapon so far and he's makin some big plays.

It is good when the point out that Damian is playing. It is equally enjoyable to me when they point out that Mustain is not.

Because SC's offensive players including the backs are coached like NFL players and they are very good at picking up the blitz.

Yep.  Because he was such a horrible person who did our program so wrong.  Stupid Frank.

He hasn't been HORRIBLE, and they've allowed him to have time in obvious passing situations.
I 'd like to see more blitzes up the middle though, in his face. Maybe I missed their earlier attempts though.

They've tried about 10 times, mostly from dime and nickle packages, where they are playing 2 over.   Nothing has gotten all that close, because USC is utterly neutralizing them at the point of attack, when they blitz.

so they're gonna pick up ALL the blitzes? Even in the NFL, seems like about 50% of the blitzes make the QB throw when he isn't ready.

Honestly I could care less about that entire era. They are as irrelevant to our program as they are to USC. We can focus on the players who wanted/want to be here and focus on Georgia. Carry on.

So you admit you are an ignorant ass who doesn't know crap?  Just spouting your mouth off until called on it.

Sure we'll carry on.

Sorry if I don't root for people who sue and transfer from my University. You have your opinion and I have mine. We all want the exact same thing (I assume) which is for the hogs to win and do well. If you want to have a side hobby of rooting for players of other teams then thats your business. I am saying I could care less about him. He is gone and he isn't coming back.

If thats being "called on it" then so be it.

In other news, I saw a woman wearing a blouse with the most magnificent neckline last night, seated at the bar in the Outback in Hot Springs at about 8pm.  Gorgeous.
This is a very competative game and fun to watch.

HogNuttz

Not the 2nd half start USC needed.  It looked like they might be building some momentum going into half.......guess not.

That's about the 3rd time I've seen a ref just eat a flag when an OSU TE has taken a defender to the ground and still has a hold on him.

Ole Pete can coach as his record proves but i don't understand how Mustain can be that bad.  When he has gotten in a game he hasn't played bad that I remember.  His practice has been good.  With this game staying close, I doubt Pete will try anyone else.  He thinks he has the best
QB in the game and if he does he is in poor shape at that position considering he has 3 five star QBs on the team.  Ohio St. isn't that good, SC isn't playing very well and I'd try one of the other QBs if I were coach.  I might even try the other QB on Defense as bad as they are looking on D.

Probably didn't have any effect on the game.  They ended up with a chipshot field goal, which they would have had anyway.

Conservative playcalls by SC is negating their athletic advantage.

Looks like Pete is loosening the reigns a little now.  Creative plays on the edge have worked most of the night.

OSU is just out playing SC right now.  Sounds like Corp might get in the game.  If a QB started hitting his receivers in stride time after time SC might pick it up a bit.  Barkley is a good QB but might be a little surprised by all the attention of this game and the fact that he is getting hit sometimes.
