Any body heard Fulmer a possible replacement for Virginia coach or possibly Louisville?  Louisville flounders this year and they will be looking.

Word out of the Krispy Kreme is he wants to be paid in donuts.

People want to make fun of Phil, and I hate his ever lovin guts.  But he is a decent coach.  He's better than what UL or Virginia have now.
If you don't know, now you know.

Groh at least recruits some talented kids.  He just is a horrible game day coach in every regard.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

Groh has pulled in a few good players.  Chris Long and Heath Miller come to mind.  But he is failing as head coach at Virginia, they are regressing from year to year.

Virginia is a larger more populated state than we are, in a lesser BCS conference, and they can't even sniff a BCS game, or any bowl game this year.

Groh is probably one of the best living examples of the Peter Principle--- and when he was in the NFL, of the Worse than Peter Principle.

Virginia has utterly lost the in-state war for talent to Virginia Tech;  even West Virginia, Maryland, and Ohio State pull more talent from Virginia than the state university.

I think we should beat anyone who has ideas that we disagree with and dares to make the public.  You're right on here.

Everyone and their dog on here turned in to dr. Phil. That's my favorite part. Everybody had advice. If I ever need advice, which is doubtful, hogville will be the last place I come for it.

Watching the rockets launch from the beach is way cool. Time for a new NASA to continue the mission. Crying shame we have a president that hates America. You people get what you deserve  #obamasfault

Growing up in Virginia, I don't think high school football was held up as important as it is out here in Arkansas.  Though, it might have more attention now than it used to.  With that said, Chris Long was a local boy.  I actually encountered his dad while shopping for last minute Christmas presents when I was home for the holidays (though I didn't recognize him without his make up - doh!).  So Groh had a lot more going for him when he recruited Long, which was essentially, "You grew up going to Virginia games, and you don't have to move away from your friends and family!  Oh, and we were number one in the nation for a few weeks back in the early 90's!"

One of my best friends' little brother was friends with Chris and at least once (maybe more?) went out with Howie Long and the rest of the family to their ranch in Big Sky country.  ...and that about ends everything I know about the Longs in C'ville.

Phat Phil would turn Virgina into a player.
If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.

Virginia is definitely one of those programs that should be a heckuva a lot better than they are.  Great location, strong academic reputation, close proximity to DC and the loaded Newport/Norfolk area.   George welsh kept them respectable for quite few years and and i remember when they beat FSU on a Thursday night game when they were #1.

Did Phil not beat Virginia that year in the Sugar Bowl?  I believe they had a QB by the name of Moore.

Shawn Moore;   Tennessee fought back from a 16-0 deficit in the Sugar Bowl to beat them 23-22.

UL or UV would benefit majorly from Phat Phil taking over.
