Saw this blurb on Saturdays down south
"On signing McTelvin Agim, the first five-star recruit in Arkansas history, earlier in the day:"
What recruiting service are they using that we have never had a 5 star recruit from before?

They are referring to ESPN. All of the ESPN recruiting analysts have been tweeting about how big of a pickup this is because it is the first ESPN 5 star since the ESPN300 has been around.

We have had multiple 5 stars based on other services, though. Collins was a 5 star on 247, and I believe Mustain was a 5 star on every site but ESPN. McFadden was a 5 star on Rivals, too.

Winston was a 5 star.  So was Batman back in the day.

Espn wasn't using stars when Mustain came out only a score. If they had been using a star system he would have been a 5 star based on where they had him ranked

There's no sense in nonsense when the heat is hot.

I knew we've had several 5 stars in the past. If Agim is our first ever ESPN 5 star then it makes getting him that much bigger.

He is a huge get either way, but it is nice to have a 5 star in all the services.

This all reminds me of the studio guys at CBS earlier today.  After our game, they said something akin to Allen throwing the ball, because we couldn't run it.

Joe Ferguson was the #1 Recruit in the Nation in 1968. I'd say that was a 5 Star guy though there were no ratings back then, same with Jerry Eckwood except he was a Top RB, one of several that year. prospect.

I remember McFadden being a five star on most services at the time. Maybe I'm crazy.

There were no rankings, but he was ranked #1?

Also, wasn't Ricky Town at one point a five star recruit? When was the last time we had a five star QB leading the offense and a five star stud defensive lineman leading our team. (Not that Town has earned that spot yet or even will)

Ryan Mallett 5 star

Signed with Michigan;  was a transfer here, so, no, we didn't sign one out of HS.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

Mustain, Winston, and Dmac were all five stars. Alex Collins was rated a five star on at least one site if I remember correctly.

Maybe this article quote will better clarify the five-star claim:
http://espn.go.com/college-sports/recruiting/football/story/_/id/13589833/mctelvin-agim-5-star-de-recruit-stays-state-commitment-arkansas-razorbacks

The 6-foot-3, 268-pound Agim became the first five-star ranked prospect to commit to Arkansas in the seven years ESPN has been assigning star rankings to prospects, which covers 97 prospects in those seven years.

Not only is Agim the first five-star to commit to Arkansas, but he is also the first top-10 ranked prospect overall to pick the Razorbacks in the 11 years ESPN has ranked prospects.

Collins was a 5* and the #1 RB on 247.  He was only a 4* in their composite, but was still the #1 RB.

He was the #1 ranked player overall for his class as a Jr I believe. Why he fell as far as he did, I haven't read.

I believe he injured his shoulder his Junior year which is why he fell from the top.  I could be wrong but pretty sure that's the case.

I remember him being a 4*. But I don't really follow recruiting compared to most on here.
