Never went to school there, but had a friend who did.  Killed many a beer and oogled at many a lady there.  Wow, so many.

Faulkner County is dry

Yeah, but Lake Liqour is right down the road in Morgan.

Graduating in 96, my contributions in increments of $15 for parking tickets and tuition (which increased every semster but 1 while I was there..while I worked my way thru school) made me proud to return recently and see all my $$$ sunk into buildings and gardens.  Long live the University of Construction and Agriculture.  Ahh those memories take me back...I mean, I've been ignored by people since, but never like my days at UCA when I on the outside looking in at the fraternity/soroity scene.  Those were the days.... ;)

i love watching the bears.  one of the best parts about it is that you don't have to deal with all of the drama of the uofa.  i love going to watch there games.  they have really improved the game day atmosphere as well.  they are definitely on the rise.  o by the way, the wanted to play ASU this year and ASU said no- talk about a double standard.
You have no clue what you are talking about.  ASU didn't have room on their schedule this year after UCA announced the move to D1AA.  There's no room next year either since we are going to be playing WKU, hosting SMU and Memphis and likely starting a home and home with So. Miss.

ASU and UCA will square off in baseball and talks have taken place about playing football again now that they are going to count towards bowl eligibility.  Considering that UCA stands a much better chance of beating ASU in baseball than football, there is absolutely no double standard.

I graduated from Tech, so no.  But I'd support them vs anyone else!

Since I live out of state, I support all Arkansas schools.

I"m a student at UA, but I still support the Bears.  Several of my friends went to UCA and I know a few of the Phi Sig's from there too.
You must be a Pike.

I'm sorry.

What's that suppose to mean?  You must be Kappa Sig!

I live 1 mile from the UCA campus.  My fiance's family lives 1/2 mile from ASU's stadium.  I usually go to one of those when the Hogs are playing Cupcake State.

I'm a UCA grad from 1985.  After the Razorbacks, I support UCA, then the Indians or Trojans (whichever is having a better season in basketball).  I like to see an Arkansas team do well in the Sun Belt.

I received a MBA there in 1977. Great school.

and I agree Clint C can coach.

razormac214

Graduated in '04, worked in the football program for a couple of years.

Graduated in '03.  Greek and orientation staff member for 3 of those years.  Loved every minute of it.

Have been for a long time.  I think Lu is trying to build up a  legitimate D-1 program here.  I too, agree that asu is about to be surpassed by UCA in sports as it already has in academics.
I live just a couple of miles from the campus, it is just gorgeous.  It is a good time to live in Conway!

That is a lie.   ASU has had this years schedule planned for quite a darn while.  All of our games this year were parts of contracts that had been settled a couple years ago.     We did have an opening for a 1 AA in 2007, but the Sun Belt decided that if we play anyone in that spot, we should play Western Kentucky, who is moving to D1 in 08.

ASU and UCA will meet eventually.   But not right now.

They couldnt have even played in 2006 because UCA wouldnt have counted as a win for ASU towards bowl eligibility.  Last year they were technically still D2.   The first year they could play a D1 team and have it count is 07, and they are doing so by playing Louisianna Tech

So....  what is the main UCA cheer?   Wooooooooooooooooo.... Bear... Growl?

Incidentally, I met a stripper who was working in Dallas on the weekends that said she was going to school at UCA during the week.  Needless to say, I've been a UCA fan ever since.

ErieHog

I remember a year-- I believe it was 98-- where UCA played ASU in football, at ASU.  It required a last second Hail Mary for ASU to defeat UCA.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

bacchusrider

I live in Conway and I think tht President Hardin has the athletic department heading in the right direction. With John Thompson in charge as AD and the fact that when the Little Rock/War Memorial - U of A contract is up and the Hog games are all moved to The Hill, UCA will be "Arkansas'" team.

The majority of central Arkansas will follow the Bears and, although it may take 10-15 years I think we are going to see 2 major college teams from Arkansas.  Maybe this is just wishful thinking, but with the schools popularity and the enrollment second to only the U of A I think this is a possibility.

I have also heard rumors that Estes Stadium is set for a MAJOR overhaul....big news considering it was just a few years ago that it was enlarged and remodeled.  While the Bears will prob never be as Big or as followed as the Hogs, I certainly think you will be hearing a lot about them locally and some nationally from here on out.

I will be happy for UCA as they advance their program in the coming years.

I admire the way in which they've humbly climbed the ladder up the college divisions without their administration or fan base ever mounting a campaign demanding the State's flagship university give them games.

They're doing it on their own and in the right way.    Go Bears!

My wife and I graduated from there.  Went there from 1994-97.  Great school.  I haven't been to a sporting event there since I graduated.  Glad to see it growing.

What makes everyone think that UCA will not whine about playing the Hogs as soon as they think they are big enough?

#2 in my book. Can't wait to see them grow bigger.
