Auburn signee Jauntavius Johnson provides update on torn ACL | http://ow.ly/LyEgl

QuoteAfter tearing his ACL in the third game of his senior season, Auburn signee Jauntavius Johnson is "65 to 75 percent" finished with his rehab, reports Rivals.

Despite the injury, which Johsnon says occurred on a chop-block during Lincoln's game with Alexandria, he finished the year with 84 tackles.

"I could still play on it," said Johnson, who underwent rehab surgery in November after his team's final game. "It didn't affect me much."

The 6-foot-3, 315-pounder reportedly attends rehab sessions three to four times a week, numbers that will likely change once he arrives at Auburn May 24.

"If he was on campus, he'd be going three or four times a day and that's the thing that you really hate," Auburn defensive line coach Rodney Garner said. "But we'll get him here and get him going on our rehab program and see where we get him to."

Justin Scott-Wesley's career altered, not over http://es.pn/1NIBKOn

QuoteWhen Georgia's Justin Scott-Wesley tore his ACL two seasons ago, he was just starting to emerge as a playmaker.

And then the injury happened.

It set him back a year, and though he returned late last season, he played only sparingly down the stretch. Now the senior is hoping to finish his career on a good note.

The only problem is Scott-Wesley is having to learn a new offense. Former offensive coordinator Mike Bobo moved on to be the head coach at Colorado State, leaving Georgia's offense to longtime NFL assistant coach Brian Schottenheimer.

"Yeah, I was coming into my own, I was comfortable in the offense and Bobo's system," Scott-Wesley told Seth Emerson of the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer. "It was good for me. And now it's time to learn. It's time to move on. You can't dwell on the past."

Scott-Wesley is not yet sure what his role on the team will be. He had just one catch for 16 yards in Saturday's spring game...

Nick Saban offers injury updates on Cam Sims, Bo Scarbrough http://www.al.com/alabamafootball/index.ssf/2015/06/nick_saban_offers_injury_updat.html ...

QuoteFreshman running back Bo Scarbrough and sophomore wide receiver Cam Sims are both doing well in their rehab from the torn anterior cruciate ligaments both suffered during the spring, Alabama coach Nick Saban said Thursday prior to the start of his annual charity golf tournament.

"Bo's probably a little bit ahead," Saban said. "Cam had a little more difficult injury to start early rehab with. Both guys are working really hard. We're really pleased with the progress that they're making, and I think our staff is doing a fantastic job with those guys."

A former prized recruit, the 6-foot-2, 240-pound Scarbrough was in the mix to see playing time behind starting running back Derrick Henry prior to sustaining his injury during the Tide's first scrimmage April 3...

Sims, who was one of the leading candidates for one of the starting wide receiver jobs, was injured in late March.

"It's really too early to predict when they'll be able to come back," Saban said. "We're certainly not going to put them at any risk, and it'll be a medical decision when they do come back."

Georgia star running back Nick Chubb sustained a left knee injury and will not return to Saturday's game against Tennessee.

QuoteNeyland Stadium was unfriendly to Georgia two years ago.  On that day, both Marshall and receiver Justin Scott-Wesley tore their anterior cruciate ligaments.

Chubb's streak of 100-yard games will end at 13 and tied with former Georgia running back Herschel Walker.

Injured Auburn cornerback T.J. Davis has 'setbacks' in recovery from torn ACL
http://bit.ly/1WutMwt

QuoteAfter tearing his anterior cruciate ligament during the spring practice in March, Davis missed the second half of spring and fall camp. The coaching staff was optimistic the 6-foot junior could play at some point this fall, but Davis is still not able to take the field.

"T.J. is still not quite ready to roll," Auburn coach Gus Malzahn said.

Auburn cornerback Jeremiah Dinson out for the year
http://bit.ly/1QeHiAm

QuoteDinson was chasing after Kyler Murray when he went down on a hit by Texas A&M's Ricky Seals-Jones, who was initially called for targeting but the call was reversed upon review.

Auburn defensive coordinator Will Muschamp was visibly upset with the play during the game.

Dinson's right leg was twisted as his body was knocked back on the play and was taken off the field on a golf cart.

Dinson is the second cornerback to suffer a season-ending injury this season, as Josh Holsey is also out for the season after retearing his anterior cruciate ligament. T.J. Davis suffered a torn ACL during the spring and has yet to return.

Auburn's secondary is further depleted due to an ankle injury to starting safety Tray Matthews.

MSU's once banged up offensive line appears to be healthy for Alabama http://on.thec-l.com/1iY0JyZ

QuoteState's trainers wanted to escort Rufus Warren to the locker room at Missouri last week. A leg injury sidelined the left tackle. He wouldn't return to MSU's 31-13 win, but he demanded to remain on the sideline.

"I wanted to go back out there to be a voice," Warren said. "It killed me to not be out there physically, but I was always in their ear on the sideline."

Warren expects to return to the field this weekend when No. 17 Mississippi State hosts No. 2 Alabama on Saturday. Against Missouri, Warren's injury forced guard Justin Malone to move to left tackle and protect Dak Prescott's blindside. Elgton Jenkins, Warren's backup, didn't dress for the game with a knee injury. He traveled with the team as a game-time decision.

Jenkins is also expected back for Alabama.

"He had a slight injury with his knee," MSU offensive line coach John Hevesy said. "It was something where he could have played to a point where if he had to go, he could go, but it was to a point to get him healthier for this week."

Alabama limited LSU's Leonard Fournette, the nation's leading rusher, to 31 yards on 19 carries last week.

Apparently, I should have become an ACL surgeon. Business is booming.
"Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats." ― H.L. Mencken

Hogville prediction formula:

1.  Insert bad news prediction. A loss, a recruit going elsewhere, a coach leaving, etc.
2.  Tag "hope I'm wrong," on the end.
3a.  Enjoy a correct prediction.
3b.  Act like you're relieved you're wrong and celebrate with everyone else.

Other nuggets in @DanaSulonen's notebook: Cass McKinzy leaves with bad injury. Marcus Davis and special teams shine http://www.oanow.com/sports/college/auburn/peyton-barber-eclipses--yard-mark-for-season/article_64183612-af4f-11e5-b5e0-ffe401b0ea5a.html ...

Quote

However for senior linebacker Cassanova McKinzy, his time in an Auburn uniform ended on a note that could affect his possible future in the NFL.

In the second quarter, it appeared on replays as if McKinzy came down wrong on his right leg, and was taken off by Auburn trainers in visible pain. He came back out in the second half on crutches. There is no word from Auburn officials on what the injury is or the extent. Auburn athletics director Jay Jacobs tweeted after the game, "My thoughts & prayers with (McKinzy) tonight. Appreciate you, Cass. Wish you the best in your recovery. We'll be pulling for you."

Doctors, trainers say Tennessee TE commit 'looks great' after second ACL injury http://sec.news/1JSjHEb

QuoteDevante Brooks' rehabilitation continues to go well. That's good news for Tennessee.

The longtime Vols tight end commitment from St. John's College High School (Washington, D.C.) told SEC Country on Sunday that he is recovering nicely from his second ACL tear.

Brooks said he's ready to sign Wednesday with the Vols on National Signing Day, then get back to rehabbing his knee. The goal is to be 100 percent recovered when he enrolls at Tennessee in June. That seems reasonable.

"I'm pretty much cleared to do anything," the three-star prospect said. "Running, cutting, agility work (while) supervised, pretty much everything."

Tennessee stood by Brooks when many other schools may not have.
