After reading about this weeks practices, It sounds like Nathan Dick is practicing well. Lets say he sees alot of playing time against MSU/LSU, and really lights it up. Will anybody be disappointed in Petrino's decision to not play him more earlier?

I really like CBP, but this team has not only lost alot of games but have been blown out a few of them. I never thought this season would be this bad, and I expect the Hogs to win a minimum of 8 games next year. That being said, I dont think we will win one more game this year if we dont make some changes.

USC-e is not that good of a football team, and that game was worse than the score says.
I POST IN CAPS CAUSE I LOVE THE JOKES!

The Great Hambino

Its the close games that we should have won that get me. I can handle a blow out to Alabama and Texas, because they beat the pants off a lot of "good" teams.

Coach Obvious

IMO, Casey earned the right to start, and I trust Petrino on this decision. Even if Nathan is better than Casey (which I doubt, as far as understanding the offense), there is no guarantee that we would have won more games with Nathan at the helm.

This is a rebuilding year, and we have to just gut it out. Next year there will be no doubt who the best QB on campus is, and all will be well.

It's really hard to be mad about what could have beens.  Nathan could have came in and helped the team win or he could have came in and stunk it up.  In short just trust the coach. We have a good one now.
If winning isn't everything, why do they keep score?

You have to trust BP and the coaches. They are in a far better position to determine who needs to play at what time and in what position than any of us are. We can second guess, but that is all it is......guessing. This staff will always put the best players on the field that gives us the best chance of winning at any given time. I trust them. If ND is their choice next weekend, then next weekend he is the guy that gives us the best shot at winning. I'm not going to go back and try to second guess the staff at this point. We have no control over the past, and no control over the future. Only the coaching staff does.

we played terrible, and Miss State is worse than USC-e

If Nathan was that much better he would have played by now. It would not have taken both Casey and Tyler Wilson getting hurt for him to get playing time. I will be cheering for Nathan b/c after this season he will more than likely transfer since he has zero chance of playing once Mallet and a healthy Wilson are on the field.

I think he has as good a chance as anybody. Nathan is bigger and more athletic than Casey. He has as good of an arm as TW does. I think he has a shot.

Mallet is the most talented and after reading todays article he sounds like he is doing well. I would guess he will be the man, but who knows.

Nathan has a shot, and i think you are foolish in thinking he has no chance of playing.

Sorry that you think I am foolish :) TW had him beat on the depth chart without the spring practice time that Nathan had. Once he is healthy again he will pull farther away from Nathan IMO. We do both agree that Mallet will be number 1 next season though. I hope Nathan sticks around and helps out the hogs but from a playing time point of view I think he would get more if he transfered somewhere. Only time will tell.

That's what Alex Mortenson thought, but he couldn't even get playing time at a D2 school.

Don't bet on it. There will indeed be a few who try to use Casey as a patsy for this seasons woes. Cooler heads will see Casey for what he is, and that is a leader and a team player doing his best 110% of the time. Sometimes his performance has not been what we would have hoped, but it's cheap to play the blame game with just one guy, especially when there is so much to go around. We will take our lumps this year, and when it's over, I hope to be able to meet Casey, shake his hand, and proudly tell him "well done".

Nathan had spring ball to prove himself. Wilson came in and gobbled up 2nd team snaps from Nathan and Mort. Not a lot of those to go around, anyway.

Once the season hits the staff seemed to be focused on getting Casey to where he could produce points. Sacrificing his practice reps to get the back-ups a shot is a gamble, at best. The safe bet is to go with the clear and obvious #1 and hope he develops.

We didn't see Casey until RJ had failed to produce enough wins to be bowl eligible. I suspect its the same with Nathan Dick.

Its not a problem for me: Casey was clearly superior for much of the fall in the eyes of the staff, and gave us the best hope of geting to 6+ wins. Fair enough. 2009 will be here soon, but not soon enough.
I am a Hog fan. I was long before my name was etched, twice, on the sidewalks on the Hill. I will be long after Sam Pittman and Eric Mussleman are coaches, and Hunter Yuracheck is AD. I am a Hog fan when we win, when we lose and when we don't play. I love hearing the UA band play the National Anthem on game day, but I sing along to the Alma Mater. Here's the deal.
Coach coaches and we watch. I am fairly certain that he want's to win all of the games, and has much more experience and information that we do to decide who is going to be the QB.

No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."
