I'm guessing it dates back to at least 99...I'm pretty sure it did not happen during the 2000's decade.
Images should not be any wider or taller than 250 pixels, max two images.  use  or  to accomplish this.  Total image width is allowed to be 500 pixels, maximum.  Maximum size of all signature images cannot exceed 100,000 total bytes.

It was 2008, Pel's first year

We started 6-2.  our schedule was front-easy and back-hard that year.  including @Tenn, @Kent, @OleMiss, @MissState, @Bama.  went 3-5 at the end and finished 9-7, for 2nd place in the west

Sorry I forgot since we finished so crappy.

I bet the time before it was in the 90's.

That has been a microcosm of John Pelphrey's career here.  His first team made some significant improvements in many areas, primarily in turnovers and on offense, but occasionally seemed to regress here and there.  The consistency hasn't been there, and it will be the most important thing Pelphrey can impart to this team and all future teams.  We started off good in conference his first year, and then fell apart at the end of the season.  The same went for last year.  We started off hot, yet fell off after nonconference.  This year, we started horribly, yet have seen some potential to finish strong.  Who would have known?

Never mind that  We have never won four in a row in this conference.

23-12 with a tourney win isn't what I'd call crappy.

Yes we finished crappy. 3-5 is a crappy finish no matter how you spin it.  How is that not crappy Mr.Excuse maker?

Are you a re-tard?  Just asking.

I really like the fact that Batmanfan still shows up in Hogville and posts congratulations to the team after wins, even if he doesn't like Pelphrey.

This reminds me of a former Arkansas football coach and is more descriptive of him than it is of Pelphrey.

Yes, because 3-5 is how the season ended.  Oh, not including reaching the finals of the SECT.  Or beating Indiana in the first round.

But why would anyone count anything that happens after the SEC conference schedule?  Those people are riDICulous!

Much to your chagrin, we were 6-2 midway thru the conference schedule in Pel's first year.  The same team was 3-5 at the midway point a year earlier.

Don't kid yourself.  He posted up last summer that he hoped the team would lose every game this year so that Pelphrey would get fired.

Any congratulations he can offer the team at this point are meainingless and hollow.

3-5 reminds me an awful lot of a successful football season, by the current  standards.

No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

Considering that we went 2-6 the year before, I consider 3-5 an improvement.  The year before we finished 3-5 in Pelphrey's first year, we were 7-9 in conference and made the tournament.  We had a solid team coming back in Pelphrey's first year, one that was favored to win the west.

Actually, no.  We weren't favored to win the West.   Missisippi State was a majority pick of sportswriters to win the West during SEC Media days following on their Sweet 16 appearance the previous season, despite our higher overall rank by the polls.
