They wanted Shula gone at Bama now they are #4.  They wanted Tommy T gone then went 12-0.  They wanted Beamer fired years ago at Tech.  I could go on and on but you have to have some players  and it goes in cycles.  Oh yeah  forgot one.  Nice one Penn st fans.  Wanted Joe Paw gone now look.

I think some of the PSU fans wanted Joe gone because he's like 95 years old and the trend is going toward younger coaches who weren't in college during the depression. If Mack Brown loses this year or loses to OU next year, they'll want his arse gone again.

That he has not alienated the press as well as most of the fans?
That he deserves one more year?

If all that is what you believe, I would be careful with any comments about someone Else's mental capacity or calling someone a joke.

If you dont think Longhorn fans thought Mack was terrible a year ago as a coach you are a joke.  They wont say it now because they are finally going to play in the title game.  But until this year everyone did.  And I stil do.  The guy is 1-2 vs Nutt with superior talent.  And last year we should have won.  He should have been 0-3.  He played Chris Sims the biggest joke of all over Applewhite.  That was the worst coaching move of the decade.  Well other than Nutt giving Mac one carry against Vandy.

I lived in Texas for the last two years.  Spent way too much time with Longhorn fans.  While there was some rumblings...it was like 80-20.  Even thouse 20% people wouldn't say he needed to be fired.  If you think there was some revolt, like seems to be happening here...you are way off hognation.

I disagree. The sentiment by many on Brown is that he has had incredible talent (admittedly a good recruiter) but unable to win the big games. How many times has he beaten OU, for instance? Nutt has out-coached him every time they've faced off. Not even a contest, in terms of making the most of what talent you have.  They've had more talent.  If you put stock in the recruiting rankings you'll see that they should kick Arkansas' butt on paper.

Good point, drake.  The difference between ALL these coaches and Nutt is that they vie for their conference title almost every year.  We have not.  The one time we "slipped" into the SEC Champ game, we looked foolish.  These coaches have established a winning tradition and then had a bad season or two.  We've not won consistenly, but instead lose games we should've won-especially at Fayetteville.  Sure, HDN has had some success against a few teams from time to time, but nothing consistent or lately.

What are the recruiting classes like?  Compare them.  Also compare conference records.  I think you can see that Heath looks better when you take off the 'hate' that you seem to have for coach Heath.  I'm puzzled why you give Nutt so much more leeway than coach Heath.  3 years for Stan and preseason picks have us third in west, sec player of the year.  8 years for Houston and picked where in sec West?  SEC player of the year?  Maybe freshman of the year, but Houston almost killed that by not playing him much early on.

And whose upper class players were those?, Nutt's....no, Ford's....yes.  So, if he had good upperclassmen when he got here, he should've had no problem recruiting players and getting the next classes ready.  He failed and that's where we find ourselves today, filling holes with whatever athlete we can find.  Tailback to defensive end.......come on.
