Interesting that an Attorney can manipulate a Student Conduct Hearing as if it were a Court Proceeding.

FSU is ALL-IN.......... 8)

Yeah, forgot them. Thanks for pointing that out.

So to correct: Same thing that TPD, FSUAD, AG and Jimbo says........

I know right! It's just all one big conspiracy to cover everything up, and while you're at it, go ahead and throw in the State House, Senate, heck even throw in the governor. They're all in on it!

Why is that weird? An accuser can manipulate a Title IX investigation and potential civil case in the court of public opinion.

Well that sure was an insightful post; full of excellent points and very knowledgeable. I am eagerly awaiting the brilliance you'll hammer out in your next post. I think the only thing lacking was that the message wasn't typed in all caps. That would have really got your point across.

That wasn't there earlier. :)

Anyway, Cornwell did make a good point in requesting the delay - she and her attorneys have had an excessive, actually obscene, amount of time to get her story straight (a.k.a. one that actually fits the physical evidence - which makes the 5th version for those of you keeping score at home), and then they try to spring a kangaroo court on Winston with a 2-week window to pore over a thousand pages in documents.

There is nothing typical about this hearing - the fact that a retired FL Supreme Court Justice is presiding is unprecedented. This is nothing more than a CYA move by the university in the face of its Title IX investigation.

Chief_Osceola

One more interesting point - both Casher and Darby have already had their hearing, and neither was even charged with being an accessory to assault or not preventing an assault. Darby was cleared and Casher got a year probation for filming the incident without approval. Now, why, if an assault had occurred, would neither of those 2 be charged with not helping to prevent an assault? The accuser could have gone that route had she chosen to, but for some reason neglected to do so. Why do you think that is?

It ISN'T a court proceeding and it shouldn't be traeted by such. The school doing so only reinforces that it is ALL about fooitball and stalling tactics....... 8)

Florida State seems hung over in the 1st half and then play like champions in the 2nd half. They know how to win and something should be said for that. I dont know Jameis does it. Seems like the off field pressure and on field pressure does not faze him. He doesn't worry about the pass rush and keeps his eyes down field. FSU is loaded and Winston is the best QB in college, hands down. They expect to lollygag around and beat everyone on their schedule.  If they get in a tight spot, they just wake up and turn it on.

Jameis may actually be innocent of the autograph signing allegations. The autographs weren't witnessed when signed. One Autograph specialist also says they were signed by two different hands.

Many of your responses def seem to go along that thought process. But I guess if we had a raping, crab leg stealing, squirrel capping, point shaving athlete as a QB we may say the same things.

Dude, I'm unemployed right now and would probably say it was fake too for a few grand up front and "royalties" in the future. You can't tell me the boosters down there ain't shelling out a few bucks to keep his butt playing. When there is money to be made, dirty deeds done dirt cheap.

Because I live here.
Because I joined a few years ago when FSU played Arkansas in the Supers in baseball.
Because Arkansas is my second favorite team.
Because I enjoyed reading about the Petrino train wreck.
Because people like you continue to ask.
Because you all discuss FSU more than you do most other SEC schools.

Take your pick.

We don't have anyone in the SEC, aside from maybe Auburn who is as dirty as FSU and I keep hoping when I see a thread about them it's because someone finally had enough b**** to put some of the thugs in jail. They have displaced Miami as "Thug U".

Oh that may not be the words from your mouth, but we all know that's what you mean.  Jameis could slap your grandma and you'd be like "well, I mean my grandma could be lying for all we know. Her story has changed multiple times, so she may have actually WANTED him to punch her.  Even if he did that, why weren't the two witnesses charged for not helping my grandma after Jameis broke her jaw?  You ever think about that?"

1.  They play fairly bad games against fairly bad opponents, and just out talent them in the end.

2.  It's pretty easy to get over the off-field pressure if you really don't care.

Did she say she was drugged, only to have the tox screen come back negative?  After that, did she say she was hit over the head prior to the slap, only to have the evidence show no signs of head trauma?  Did she send a text to her friend prior to the slap, asking her if it was ok if she went over the to accused house to be slapped?  Or was she slapped earlier in the day by grandpa, and have her attorney attempt to say the marks on her face belonged to her friend?

Quoteso she may have actually WANTED him to punch her.

Was she part of the twitter group #FSUFightClub, a la the cleat chaser group?

QuoteEven if he did that, why weren't the two witnesses charged for not helping my grandma after Jameis broke her jaw?  You ever think about that?"

Grandma and her attorney could have sought charges of failure to prevent a crime, or creating a hostile environment, but instead she only sought charges of violation of privacy because the punch was filmed and she didn't want it be.
