There's a bit of a bug with this using the secondary two methods, which I'm trying to track down.

The first method does work, so tweets CAN be embedded.

Just the Twitter Status ID itself.

Not sure if you've resolved the issues you were looking at, but I linked a tweet the other day, and it embedded perfectly

(I wasn't aware this feature was rolled out when I did it)
