Seems to be the forum most appropriate for this subject.

I hired and gave a retainer to a lawyer 3 months ago to handle a probate case. To date he has done absolutely nothing other than cash the check I gave him.

If an attorney willing to take a probate case, or answer a few questions happens to see this, please pm me. I live in River Valley and am gone most weeks but usually have internet access. Thanks in advance..

Tell him you want a refund of the entire retainer. If he refuses, tell him you will file in small claims based upon inadequate representation and you will also file a complaint with the bar.

Meanwhile, start this thread in the politics forum, there are a few that hang out in there.
I ain't saying you babysitting, but my kids are all over your couch.

Sometimes, I think you're a wine-o who found a laptop in a dumpster.

Has he filed the probate yet? Even a small probate can take months before the court even gets to it.

No, I meant done nothing other than cash the check quite literally.
