While any thing is possible, I would highly doubt. While it's true 'Bama was blindsided by ULM last year, I don't think Saban will let the Tide forget about that major mishap from last season. In other words, the answer IMO is a resounding not!

a team goes from beating BOTH The Hogs and Florida at home to losing to ULM at home there

There are a lot of teams that will give Bama a run this year.  Their just not that good yet.  ASU definitely has a shot but it will have to be far and away their best, most inspired performance of the season to pull it off.

So you don't think they can do it or you don't think they will.  I agree that it will be more difficult to sneak up on them because of what ULM did last year, but the poster above is right.  If you can play to within a blown call of having a shot at beating Texas then it definitely CAN happen.

If you will take a moment to go back to my original post I clearly stated that while anything is possible, I don't think it will happen. What part of that statement confused or was unclear to you?

Bama did not play florida last year.  After losing two starting offensive linemen to suspension they whipped Tennessee and then turned around and lost to ULM, LSU.  After reinstatement of the linemen they lost to Auburn.

They have something in common-- both lost to ULM last year.

ASU will put a scare into Alabama, just as they did to Ole Piss in 2004, though not well enough to win-- slightly worse than their 1994 tie against Miss. State.

ASU has already played UCA in the past, not that long ago in fact----ASU won but UCA put up a good fight!!!!!  ASU has nothing to lose by playing them, but more to gain by scheduling bigger name teams in non-conference games....like $$$$$.

Of course, you have to agree that these two teams playing each other makes a lot more sense than the Hogs playing a Louisiana-Monroe team in War Memorial and letting the Louisiana-Monroe team claim home field attendance!  Maybe someday i'll understand that one!  If we keep doing things like that, we'd better watch out ULM might cut in on our recruiting!  Ouch!!!!!

I remember well 1984 when ASU almost pulled the upset at College Station in losing 22-21.  My ASU fan friends were up in my face about it because we had lost to them pretty solidly the prior season.

After we beat the Aggies 28-0 six weeks later,  they suddenly lost interest in the subject.

I think it's unfortunate that there are a few fans of the 'other' Arkansas team that have made discussions about football difficult. Too much trash talking over the years have created an animosity that isn't really needed. Yet, I can't understand why the UA just doesn't get it over with, play the RedWolves, or whatever they're calling themselves now, and beat them soundly enough to shut up their fans.

I'm a graduate of ASU, but I'm a Hog fan first. I'd love to see the RedWolves do well, but I know that if/when they do, the uproar for a matchup will raise its head again. Why not just get it over with?
