Now we can finally get back to being a basketball school while our football team pulls its head out of its butt.

Late 80's early 90's all over again. I said when BP was on the hot seat waiting on Long's decision IF he were fired history would repeat itself.

I am okay with that.  I did not start following the Hogs because of football.

How high do you think Hakeem Olajuwon jumped? Kevin McHale? He didn't show a lot of lift as a freshman, but with some work on his post moves, he doesn't necessary need a ton of lift.

Plus, I said "possibly". Abron has it in him. If he can get to the point to where he's pulling in almost 10 rebounds a game and scoring double digits points, that's going to be a star in this system and it's going to have a star-level impact on our winning percentage.

Hakeem was part of Phi Slama Jama and very much a leaper.

Hakeem was not a high-riser. Doesn't matter if he had the ability, that wasn't my point. He was largely a below-the-rim player.

What are your thoughts now folks?

I gotta admit, maybe you were right. Dangit, that hurt.

I just hope we can truly say that it was better, this time next year...

Well, it certainly ended up that way. The 2012 class fit much better in Mike's program than the 2011 class. In comparing the two classes, you had:

G: Madden   vs.    Wagner
G: Young     vs.    Bell
F: Ross         vs.    Qualls
F: Mickelson   vs.    Williams
F: Abron        vs.    Clarke

If all players made it to campus and were all still here for the 2013 season, I'd say it'd be pretty close. But they aren't, so its a clear win for 2012.

You are nuts. Olajuwan was an amazing athlete at his size and played WAY over the rim in his youth.

Hakeem is known for above-the-rim game or his post moves? Dream Shake is a dunk? I don't care if you can find footage of him dunking. Obviously he can dunk. His footwork is what made him a HOFer. Everyone has highlights. My point is that Hakeem wasn't known for his leaping ability. In that video you posted, he's barely jumping on most of those dunks and blocked shots. And like half the video is fade-away jumpers. Man had long arms. Everyone knows this. My point was that you can be an effective player without playing above-the-rim basketball. Hakeem wasn't playing too much above the rim when he won his 2 championships.

Back then it was Akeem (none of that hakeen s***), he was a basketball God, and he could fly.
