no, but do you remember Landis Williams?

Jacorey Williams reminds me of Romeo Williams. Great athletes without much basketball skill.

Flashed my student ID. Sat at mid court over the saw mill dirt of BarnHill and watched for the first time the game of basketball played above the rim. Dean Tolson had forever hooked me on this game.

Kenny Gregory had the highest vertical ever recorded at the combine (45.5" in 2001).
Notre Dame's Pat Connaughton at 44" was the highest in the 2015 combine.

Qualls' body fat was measured at 4%, the leanest of 2015 combine participants while Dakari Johnson was the most obese.

uh, Mike Conley

Mike Conley, Antwon Hall, Craig Tyson, and Dean Tolson

WarPig88

It would have to be between Dean and US Reed.

Both those guys were much smaller than any of the others on this list. Dean is fresher in people's minds, but Reed once did a real 360 degree, two hand slam in a game up at the Great Alaskan Shootout and the guy was only about 6' tall.

WarPig88

I keep seeing Conley brought up, but he never actually played here.

Sutton brought him in from Chicago but he almost immediately gravitated to the track team and never actually played basketball.

Olu Famatimi?! Maybe in the same world that Vin Ascolese was going to be a stud lb here but not in the real one.

Michael Wilson was a freak.  I remember in the '95 tournment Thurman was on a one on nothing break with Wilson behind him.  Scotty put up a layup way high on the glass and Wilson still blocked off the glass.  Unreal

Olu Famutimi could elevate
I have a good story about him.  When he was still a recruit, I attended Mizzou's black-and-gold basketball game/scrimmage (it was just before their football game) with my wife and her family who are all MU alums.  I had heard Olu would be there so I made a sign that said "Olu go to Arkansas" or something like that.  I waited until after the game was over and distanced myself from my wife and got across from Olu and held up the sign.  He didn't notice it so I finally went down on the court (where he was) and said hello to him and showed him my sign and said he should be a Razorback.  He got a little chuckle out of it, but seemed impressed to see an Arkansas fan on the campus of a rival.

IMO, I always thought Sunday had crazy high hops.

Conley from behind the freethrow line

Circa 85 playing in the Hyper opposite Conley, he's coming down on a fast break, I set up for the charge and he jumped OVER me and dunked!  I'm 6ft.....

in 83 playing opposite Tony Brown, same scenario but got a knee to the chest and drew the charge.

Vertical jumps are measured when jumping from both feet simultaneously. Mike Conley was a one-footed jumper and not a two-footed jumper so his true "vertical" leaping ability is difficult to assess. He's not in the same class with Hood and Adebayo, who threw down off two feet almost exclusively. Conley is closer to Weems, who is more of a one-foot guy, in terms of style.

Although little Al Dillard was a marksman, does anyone remember that awesome dunk he did where he threw it off the backboard to himself? He had some pretty good hops for that one.

I don't know how high Darrel Walker's vertical jump was but he jumped center for the Hogs at 6-3/6-4. He was not someone who could take off at the free throw line he was a jump off two feet skywalker.

The football player?  You grading that on a ratio?  leap to weight?   ???
I've never wanted a Hog coach to be successful more than I do for Pittman.  He's one of the good guys.

having seen them all played including Qualls, I would still think that Marvin Delph actually had the highest vertical.  He didnt play in a 'spectacular age' that was just beginning to come back when he played, but he could flat sky when the occasion called for it.
Like the erstwhile Clark Kent, my true identity is shielded.  I am an author, Nathan J. Allison is my pen name.

The Brewer family is struggling in the poll.  Combined, they have a .1 better percentage than Frito Pie.  While I realize Frito pie is outstanding, especially with some jalapeno peppers and a light sprinkling of Slap Yo Mama on top, on its best day it couldn't even get airborne.

I was a little sprite at the time, but I remember there being an urban legend of one of our basketball players being able to stack quarters on the top of the backboard.  Probably would have been in the 70's.  Anyone recall who that was?  I want to say it may have been Sid.  Whoever it was that could do that would get my vote.  Yes, even over Frito Pie.   ;)

Tony Brown for sure, never saw anyone get off the ground like him.  Brandon Dean or Marvin Delph next.

LOL Come on bruh, you're saying dude leapt 72" high to get over you (and that's assuming you has some T Rex arms rather than real arms that would have added to height necessary to get over you?)

And the answer is Dean.

Qualls sure would give Derek Hood a run for his money for nastiest dunking Hog though.

Not sure what his vertical was but I remember when Adebayo went to Memphis they did a demo of him dunking on a 12ft goal.

WMHawgfan

From the NBA I remember them showing video of Michael Cooper touching the top of the backboard. That is insane.

LAHogfan123

Even though this player wasn't known for being a great leaper because he rarely showed off his dunking and leaping skills, he was the most exciting 3pt specialist we've ever had.  Who was he?

Michael Wilson is the guy who specialized in dunking on a 12 foot goal. And there's no urban legends about him. He could literally touch the top of the backboard.

I gotta mention Spud Webb. IIRC, he had a 52' vertical.

Iwastherein1969

the rumor back in the day was Moncrief and Delph had contest to see who could get pick quarters off the top of the back-board, best of 5...same rumors had Delph winning the majority of the time
The long Grey line will never fail our country.

Didn't the NCAA change the jump ball rule because of Moncrief?

We have had a good amount of jumpers though haven't we?

Also heard Davor Rimac could fly.
