Congratulations, John Stephen Jones. Wooo Pig!
BE TRUE TO YOUR SCHOOL. THE UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS!!!  WOOO PIG!!!

BigSexyHog

I know there was some mocking going around on him but the kid has some talent.  He has been around and had access to some of the best QB's and other resources to anyone that plays football.   Congrats on the award.
Lebron raised money for kids... Rotnei stole crap from the equipment room

NWAHog479

He can sling it, numbers don't lie... Chandler Morris, CCM son, is the backup.

Flrazrback

I don't think you can actual buy statistics or on field performance. This award was the result of hard work and effort..  Congrats  John Steven Jones on a remarkable job... WPS

My ex wife had a pet monkey I used to play with. That was one of the few things I liked about her

I'm disgusted, but kinda excited. Now I'm disgusted that I'm excited.

There's not much highlights that "I" can find of him besides of what has been posted, but as has already been pointed out, money doesn't buy stats, hard work on the field produces stats and this kid has them.  If he was 6' 3" 220lbs, he'd be getting letters from all the major schools.

HoggusMaximus

it's not like he is going to start straight out of high school if he earns playing time he will play he has alot of competition.

We going from Allen's to Jones.....smh.....

I don't see where anyone has proclaimed him as a starter for the Razorbacks, if he ever plays he will have earned it under CCM.

Pig in the Pokey

another 5 touchdown performance last night; and on to the State Finals.

Why do the players in that video look so small?  I thought Highland Park was in one of the higher classifications?

update: I'm not being critical, but just wondering why the players seem small; mostly because it's Highland Park.

Erockster20

Is it just me or does he remind anyone if Baker Mayfield?

Yeah, Highland Park plays good competition against programs with Power 5 players. This is the top 25 5A rankings in Texas. They played against Tanner McCalister (former hog commit) and Rockwall as well as Bumper Pool and Lovejoy out of Lucas Tx. The programs below have produced tons of college football players. They don't play all of them of course, but these are the types of programs in 5A across the state of Texas.

Sorry not bashing but that looks like peewee football not big time high school ball. I not buying on this one for a schollie maybe a preferred walk on for the scout team.

Well, the team in green tops is South Lake Carroll the one time Texas powerhouse where Chase Daniel and Greg McElroy played.

I'm with you looks like peewee or Pop Warner not big time high school ball. Not trying to be mean but those are a bunch of little, slow pastie white boys. If that is an indication of the top level of Texas high school football and we're wanting to recruit very hard there then I'm worried we won't win a game if we get a bunch of those players. Scary

Go look at some top flight programs highlights from Bama or Georgia , then look back at that and tell me if you see a difference. That's not what I remember South Lake Carroll looking like about 15 years ago Wow.

hawgdavis

I guess that's why when teams from Ga go out and play teams from Texas we usually beat the darn out of them and why the won't play us anymore.

After clicking on that link here is what I'm thinking. It says Max Preps published this on August 10th 2016. That means this is probably the 2015 season meaning Jones was a sophomore here and this is JV football.

Not saying a small school can't have a couple of big time players Nick Chubb , Garrison Hearst, Tim Worley , Herschel Walker ,Charles Johnson to name a few I know of but the teams they played on didn't look that little and slow.

Again not trying to be mean or cold I guess I'm just used to watching high school football played at a different level.

The guy I mentioned above all went to 1 and 2 A schools.

That would make more sense, if so My bad

Kinda cringe inducing, when you consider how the career of the guy the award was named for, was ended, in relation to the recipient.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

By the way, I wasn't being critical and I should have mentioned that.  I thought Highland Park was a powerhouse and I trust CCM, but the players just looked small to me, so it had me wondering why.

Matt Stafford is a Highland Park product.  So is Clayton Kershaw.  One is the highest paid QB in football the other is a generational talent as a pitcher for the Dodgers and at his current pace will end up in the Hall of Fame.  Highland Park can produce talent.

I have said this before but I will repeat.  I have seen JSJ play 8 or 9 times over the last 2 years.  My buddy's kid plays with him on that team,  JSJ is a very good athlete.  Pocket awareness is excellent, feet are good and he can run when he needs to, accurate on the short to intermediate throws.  Smart player and doesn't get rattled.  Additionally, by all accounts, a good kid.  The only negatives are size and the ability to drive the ball on a line down the field on a deep throw (although his arm is plenty good in a spread offense).

Will he be great in college?  Who knows but he wins against good competition and has put up crazy numbers this year.  Already a 5A state champ and playing for a 2nd championship this weekend.  He has earned the look.

Pig in the Pokey

I aint even sayin the kid will play. But he will be the COWBOYS OWNER someday. Of COURSE we want him on the team. Better clipboard holder than some bum arkansas kid who can never see the field. Better for recruiting, better for both  current and future "funding", and better if he ddoes have to see the field than the usual arkansas backup QB traditionally.

No problem here didn't think you were just having a good conversation about things I'm not trying to belittle that team just looking at the video and knowing what big time high school football is supposed to look like , the 2 things just didn't add up.

Come on PIP that video is crazy but knowing it is or possibly JV doesn't scare me as bad lol. That's just not big time high school football and if it was that's what scared me lol.

I'm with you, if that's JV I can see the lack of size and speed but if that video shows their varsity then that program is way down because that was not big time high school football IMO.

He was sitting in the visiting owner's box with Jerrah at Oakland with his Dad on the other side Sunday night.

Maybe he provided Gene Steratore with the now infamous folded up index card that helped give the Cowboys the win..

Either that or Gramps gave Steratore some other folded paper objects prior to the game.
