Cal may win that game big ten don't travel west well some stat like dropping last 22 out of 26 when traveling west

I think Ohio State still wins because Cal's defense is atrocious. They gave up over 500 yards to Portland State last weekend. Now will Ohio St cover the 16 points? I don't think so.

Here's one for you: Ohio State (-16) 66 @ California

Ohio St averaging 452.5 and 41 points on offense, 269 and 13.5 points on defense.
Cal is averaging 582.5 and 33.5 points on offense, 530.5 and 37 points on defense.

Jeff, what are your thoughts on this game?  OSU -16? The "Over"?

Man I was on the damn phone. At 10:00 with two different people last night trying to get info or insight on this game. One of the guys is in Carson City and I consider him a PAC whatever they are now guru.

The other guy is in Atlantic City and deals heavily with Big Ten.

Talked to a guy in Youngstown this morning that is the best I have ever seen college and pro.

Consensus is. You waiting! :). Nobody knows.  They are running that line waaaay up and down locally just trying to keep the money even ( of course everyone that takes bets wants it even). Guy in Youngstown has gone up to Ohio St -23 and is still getting takers swallowing the points.  Of course probably a lot of buckeye fans.

Guy in Carson City has taken it down to Ohio St -9 and is still getting takers on Cal plus the points.

Guy in A City has left his line at 14.5 and has a pretty good split.

Conversations all went just like this. What are you thoughts on this game.  Replies were exactly what I was thinking. Nobody likes Big Ten traveling west. Cal is horrible across the board. Ohio St could win by 40, or they could do what Clemson has done at least once the past ten years.  Lose outright a game they should dominate.

I'm not touching this one as of now.  If I HAD to play it this second would probably take Cal +14.5.  None of these guys allow me to bet with them because of the information we share back and forth.

I do like the over.  Nobody this far is a real believer in OSU defense, but Cals Offense could be just bad enough to not score.

Could I possibly have further muddied the water?
Let's make some waves.

I like a lot of games this week.  Honestly I played more than I should have.  That said I don't see any 4 or 5* plays out there.  Might not be such a bad thing considering the Texas debacle last week. I totally blew that pick.  I'm not ashamed of okie st bet last week because they truly should have covered by 3 scores.

Naw, not at all. I've studied this game too and I know the Big Ten doesn't travel/play well going West. Will Ohio St screw the pooch tonight and lose? I don't think so. They'll win, just not sure they cover because Cal will be running that up tempo and will be throwing the ball all over the field.

I'm a little reluctant on the Over in this game because Ohio St does have a good defense.

That being said, and talking about Big Ten teams traveling West, Wisconsin may get their arses beat in Tempe tonight by Arizona State as well and ASU may cover the -5.

I agree.  I'm leaning Sun Devils at the moment.
Let's make some waves.

The ASU v Wiscy game is one I can't wait to watch. Every "expert" has ASU winning outright. On the betting side of things, the the public is on Wiscy (61%), bringing the line from -5.5 to -4.

I think the Sips will have a bounce-back game, but don't know how McCoy compares to Ash.

It's going to be about 90 degrees when that game starts in Tempe tonight. I'll be interested to see how Wisconsin handles the heat. if they have simulated the heat in practice along with ramping up the humidity, they'll have no problem handling the weather.

Wisconsin hasn't played anyone yet, but neither has Ariz St (Sacramento State?). Both teams have shown good defense but how good can it be against who they have played?

Big question here is, can Wisconsin drive the ball with a running game and be successful and work the clock while Arizona State throws the ball all over the field?

Is this a case of who scores last?

Should be an interesting game.

Anybody have any thoughts on Oregon and Tenn? It opened at 20 and I got it at 28. Vegas is never this far off, so I put my money on Vegas and took the 28.

Also two off the radar picks...Utah St. and Youngstown St.

UCLA - Nebraska has dropped to a pick em on Sportsbook.. Interesting. 2 days ago it was -4.5 Nebraska.

Crap. I placed my wager at 9:53 and took it at 3. Less than an hour it's a pk. Luckily, it's just a unit play for me.

Did very little research this past week been super busy with everything. No excuses though here we go.

NCAA:

Oregon -28.5 2* (Tennessee has some good players but Oregon will want to make a statement against the sec)

Bama -9 2*(so much hype, kinda similiar to what I said about new England and got burned but until proven otherwise I'm gonna keep taking bama)

Northen Illinois -29.5 1* (this is kind of a high spread but Paul Petrino sucks, nuff said)

Auburn -7 1* ( at home against a struggling miss st team I think the gus bus is gonna try to run it up)

Ohio St -15 1* (cal underperforms in big games and Ohio state knows they have to win and provably big to stay in national title talk)

Texas -3 1* (definitely only one unit cause this could go either way, either Texas regroups at home or continues to fall apart)

Arizona -24.5 3*(Arizona has done me right recently, I'll stay on them, might as well 3* unit it)

Wisconsin +4.5 1* (Wisconsin historically doesnt travel/play well on west coast and the heat will probably be a factor. I just feel like their going to try and make a statement with this.)

And I'm gonna do western Kentucky/south bama Over 55 cause with a crappy defense Petrino can score that much with just WKU

Sorry about this bro, but last night I saw where a guy on therx was talking up UCLA, ML, side and was making it one of his biggest play. Not that he moved the line, but there are several people on the other side.

it's in Oregon, and Tennessee is in a rebranding/rebuilding mode. I can easily see a cover by Oregon, but the back door cover has run rampant this year, and I do believe that Tennessee will keep it right on the edge where a late FG or TD in scrub time could lose some people a lot of money.

to be honest, I see the 1st half of that game at -17 is the better bet. That 17 points should be covered in the first 10-12 minutes.

You want to see sharps in action?

Louisville opens at -7.5. Within a day maybe, the line gets up to about -12.5 and continues creeping upwards until it hits a high of 15.5. At this point it gets HAMMERED back down to 13 at some places within an hour, maybe within minutes.

Good call Sir Pigs on Kentucky, you got it at the BEST time.

2-1 on the day so far, up 2 units.  Glad I got Louisville when I did at -13.  Wish I had made UCLA a bigger play but hindsight is always 20-20 lol

So irritated with my book right now regarding Louisville. They never had them at anything less than 14 so I got them at 14.5.

That's the first step . Find the games that appear to have been overlooked or just flat out missed by Vegas. They do make mistakes, every week. Once you have the lines that are off, figure out why . That's the hard part.
