Vanderbilt vs. Indiana in Maui would be must see TV

Ole Miss' non-conference schedule is going to be like pushing a boulder up a hill.

Great offense? Check. NBA-level talent? Check. Innovative coaches that won't be afraid to to play at a breakneck pace? You better believe it. After watching the Dores practice on Wednesday in Nashville and studying the Hoosiers from last season, it's more than safe to say that if these two teams play in the second round of the Maui Invitational it would be a must watch. Both Vanderbilt and Indiana are two of the more prolific scoring teams in college basketball and this is the type of game that could be 50-45 at the half. The Dores would have a distinct edge in the paint with Damian Jones -- a likely first-round pick in the 2016 NBA Draft --

Vanderbilt opens the event against St. John's while Indiana faces Wake Forest.

The Rebels will play five home games and eight road/neutral site games before kicking off SEC play in early January. Has a program in a power-five conference ever had to deal with something with like that?

Due to completion of their new basketball arena replacing the Tad Pad.

It was another career night for another South Carolina big man.

One game after fellow Lithuanian countryman and senior Laimonas Chatkevicius scored a career-high 27 points, Mindaugas Kacinas set a career-high with 23 points in the Gamecocks' 76-61 win over DePaul in the first round of the Paradise Jam.

The win improved USC to 3-0, matching the best start of the Frank Martin era, and put the Gamecocks into a 9 p.m. matchup with Hofstra on Sunday in the winner's bracket. The Pride were a surprise winner over Florida State.

USC hasn't been 4-0 since 2009-10.

The Gamecocks began hot, working their preferred offense of going inside...

2) #212 Little Rock 49, #39 San Diego State 43 (8%), Saturday. We are still early enough in the season that season-long statistics aren't too meaningful. But that doesn't make them any less fun. After two games against D-I opponents, Little Rock ranks dead last in the country in effective field goal percentage. Yet they are unbeaten...

1) #217 UT Arlington 73, #38 Ohio State 68 (7%), Friday. This outcome doesn't look as shocking after UTA won at Memphis and Ohio State fell to Louisiana Tech later in the week...

The Cowboys led 48-38 with just under six minutes left, but the Patriots closed regulation on an 18-8 run and then won it overtime. Under first-year head coach Dave Paulsen, the Patriots opened with losses to Colgate and Mercer before getting wins in Charleston against Mississippi and Oklahoma State.
