They've been to the Butch Jones school of recruiting. Expect several blue shirt, grey shirt, double secret legacies, and plain ole schollies pulled by Feb 3rd. That, or they had undersigned under Wil.

Probably the same thing every school do & tell a lesser recruit their going in a Different direction. Just like the OL recruit from Michigan was told. Just a guess though. Every school don't have the luxury of being Bama & telling recruits their going to have to grey shirt/ blue shirt & the recruit goes along with it....For the quote above on signing less to sign more. I thought the SEC rule is you can only sign 25 regardless of what you signed the previous year ?

Each SEC member institution is limited to signing 25 football prospective student-athletes to a National Letter of Intent, Conference financial aid agreement and/or institutional offer of athletics financial aid from December 1 through May 31st of each year.

A prospective student-athlete who signs a National Letter of Intent, Conference financial aid agreement and/or institutional offer of athletics financial aid and is included in the certifying institution's initial counter limits for the current academic year is not subject to the institution's annual signing limit.

UF gets the final visit for four-star wideout Tyrie Cleveland

Kristian Fulton, the five-star recruit from Metairie (La.) Archbishop Rummel will visit UF this weekend following trips to Arkansas and LSU...

As NSD nears, #Gators fans need to keep in mind that #UF is at 26 commits and currently has two more scholarships available to offer.

They could have 1-2 defections from the current commitment list, but the point is that they're tight on numbers.

National Signing Day should be be pretty uneventful for UF compared to last year, which is what happens when you secure 26 commits and a top-five class ahead of time.

Jim McElwain told me after the bowl game he would sign 28-30. UF currently has 28 scholarships available for 2016, excluding walk-ons.

But there's a good likelihood that the Gators could have a couple transfers between now and the summer, or some signees not qualify for enrollment. With that being the case, I think McElwain would be OK to oversign by one or two spots, especially for a prospect such as Kristian Fulton.

The scholarship numbers would work themselves out by the time recruits reported to campus in July.

I still have UF at 29 signees.

Florida has put together one of the nation's top 2016 recruiting classes, but coach Jim McElwain and his staff know how quickly things can change – for better or for worse – before National Signing Day.

That's why the final weekend for official visitors may be the most important one for the Gators.

UF is hosting 10 recruits on official visits – seven of which have given Florida verbal commitments and three considering signing with the Gators – this weekend.

Four-star defensive back Kristian Fulton out of Rummel (La.) had appeared to narrow down his list to LSU and Florida, and the Gators are hoping his official visit this weekend can convince the 6-foot, 175-pound prospect to leave his home state for Florida.

UF is hoping to flip four-star Westfield (Texas) wide receiver Tyrie Cleveland from Houston, and the Gators are hoping his friendship with fellow four-star wide receiver Rick Wells, who will also take his official visit this weekend, can get the pair to sign with Florida...

Before he arrived at UF, Tim Tebow was an uncommon leader as quarterback at St. Augustine Nease.

When Tebow joined the Gators just a month removed winning the 2005 Class 4A state championship, he found himself at the forefront of a trend that would change college
football.

Finishing school and entering college prior to high school graduation was a novelty 10 years ago. Now it is commonplace for players to skip the senior prom and focus on getting on the field —

Earlier this month, second-year coach Jim McElwain welcomed 12 early enrollees to his rebuilding Gators — the most in program history.

"I think he inherited a team that had a lot of holes," Farrell said. "Any time you see a coach go through his first year and realize his depth isn't as good as he wants it to be — that was pretty clear down the stretch — he's going to want as many guys to enroll early as possible.

"I think he knows this is a team that is going to rely on some young guys at specific positions."

Six of UF's early enrollees are on offense, including quarterbacks Feleipe Franks and Kyle Trask. Another is placekicker Eddy Pineiro of Miami.

In his autobiography, Tebow noted that he was denied admission at first due to a high school transcript issue that needed correction before he could be cleared.

Recruiting stargazers enamored only by recruits with four and five stars by their names might find Florida's 2016 recruiting class somewhat unpleasing to the eye. Because this is a class, which will be signed Wednesday, that could have as many as 14 three-star prospects in it (sic).

Here's a look at some of the three-star prospects who developed into studs for the Gators over the past 20-plus years:

2015 class
Fred Johnson, OT: Considered a project coming out of high school, his development is obviously ahead of schedule. As a true freshman, he started two games...

2014 class
Taven Bryan, DT: A little-known prospect from Wyoming, Bryan appears to have a bright future at UF after starting one game...

2013 class
Jarrad Davis, LB: His decision to return for his senior season is huge for the defense. Davis flashed his potential on special teams as a true freshman and has grown into a big-time player over the past three seasons.

2012 class

Strength of Florida's class lies not in February signees, but January's enrollees

Florida didn't have a flurry of commitments on National Signing Day and fell just outside of the top 10 in the final team rankings.

Despite landing one the nation's best wide receivers Wednesday, many Gators fans were disappointed with how the class turned out.

"Absolutely," McElwain said when asked if he's happy with the class. "You can you see the numbers on the sheet (a list of 25 signees). Last time I checked, that's a full class. I feel pretty good about it."

Florida brought in a school-record 12 early enrollees in January, more than any other program in the country.

The Gators also added graduate transfer quarterback Austin Appleby, giving them the same amount of mid-year enrollees as signing day additions.

Gators gained a commitment of three-star tight end Kemore Gamble/ 6-foot-4, 216-pound Miami product is rated the No. 13 tight end for the Class of 2017

Gamble is the fourth commitment of the 2017 class for Florida, and the first since July 2015. Florida currently has five sophomore tight ends and one junior on the roster.

This kid Kyle Trask from Manvel TX who never started there looks like a steal for Florida! Just heard from McElroy that Manvel's coach says that some day there is going to be a 30 for 30 made about him based on the fact that he never started a HS FB game while playing at Manvel. He looks much better than superstar Felippe Franks with his 3 picks, one a pick 6, LOL! Looks like Jack Del Rio's kid may be their starter by way of Bama and Oregon St. Looked pretty darned good!
