Monk is doing very well at KY. Good for them. I'm not mad about it anymore and in fact, I peek at a game every once in a while to see him play. I just can't watch it too long before I flip the channel though. No hate for Monk, I just can't stand to watch KY for more than a few minutes at a time.

Ask yourself why the hell would Monk go to Fayetteville?

No reason whatsoever. Go where the superstars go.

To lose at Minnesota on ESPN3 in one of the "big" non conference matchups. He should have wanted that in his 1 season college experience.

He may be with assets. You don't know. He did what he wanted to do. Be a 1st R pick and play in the NBA. And his career may not be over although I'm sure most of you here hopes it is over and he is broke and homeless in Little Rock.

Bingo!

Hogs going lifeless and losing to a 3 and 8 Missouri team probably isn't what some of the football recruits had in mind either. Do you think that will justify 4 and 5 star football recruits going elsewhere? Oh, wait. They already are.

Just keep getting those shots in fellas and hope the Hogs don't make the NCAA's this season cause if they do, you guys are going to be a sad little litter of runts crying in the corner.

jdunhog

Excellent fine swine!! They really need to make a Monk forum here!

1ST R Pick, Millionaire at 22, at worst owed $2 million by the Suns if no team picks him up, but he won't get that WM operations or people manager job probably or Tyson or Arkla if it is still around.

A LOT of 22 year old multi-millionaire athletes become broke by the time they are 30 or 40 at the latest. Then what happens when their friends aren't around and they don't have an education to fall back on. I once saw a sure fired can't miss HOF football player working in a casino in Tunica. He didn't own it and the job he had didn't pay great.
If I'm going to cheer players and coaches in victory, I damn sure ought to be man enough to stand with them in defeat.

He may have been a "millionaire" for about 15 mins. Then he has to pay his agent. He has to pay his taxes and then buy family the big arse house he always promised them all the time maintaining his entourage and keeping his peeps on the payroll.

Yeah, he is not in the league at the moment but he might make it back on a minimum type contract but there is NO WAY he is a millionalre now. That lasted about a day or two.

Life choices. Are you saying this because he should have played at Arkansas for one season? Or because he only stayed in college for one season?

Monk is doing well at Kentucky and seem to be enjoying his teammates. Arkansas Razorback basketball will survive and continue on when Monk name is called in the NBA draft.

Yep. Monk is beyond elite and will be a star at the college and NBA levels, in my opinion. I really, really hate that his brother helped steer him to Kentucky in an effort to further his new career. He really could've helped turn the Hogs around.

Definitely. And I will never, ever cheer for him. Doesn't mean I want him to fail or get hurt or some nonsense.

WHY WHY WHY is marcus monk still with the team? (GA I assume) His brother now plays for our conference rival, that's a HUGE conflict of interest. I got pissed everytime I saw him sitting with our coaches last night
That's right, you don't want to be the man to replace the man. You want to be the man to replace Rory Segrest.

Watching UCLA - Kentucky right now. Go Bruins.

Hard to blame a kid for going to Kentucky - the atmosphere and level of their program is light years ahead of ours. Sold out crowd vs UCLA or 4,000 bored old people against UTA not a hard choice.

One of two things (and hopefully a combination of the two) will help us and are very likely. Sustained success by Arkansas, sanctions and probation for Kentucky. We have talent right now and talent lined up, if MA can get us to March Madness every year the gap will close and we'll have a shot at recruits like Monk. Cal has left every school in his wake under sanctions, I'm hoping Kentucky is next. Would love to see them hit the shitter and the SEC be competitive again.

Lonzo Ball and DeAaron Fox might be the best two PGs I've seen this season. You can certainly tell watching these two teams is just another galaxy in terms of what we watch. This is two good teams and two teams with depth of talented NBA caliber athletes and players. Yes, it is a hell of a game. ;)

I like that Leaf for UCLA. As Raftery said, don't be fooled by his alter boy looks.

The Welch kid for UCLA and Adebayo for Kentucky are pretty great too. Nice foul drawn by Briscoe. Fox is John Wall's left-handed clone. Wow... The talent on display here is amazing

Calapari Showboats vs. Structured Team. Structural team all day long. If UCLA is number 11, there is no way Kentucky is the #1 team in basketball.

10-19 24 pts 4-8 from 3 playing UCLA on national TV as the lead in to the SEC CG in football - good for him getting this out of his college experience - I am sure he is disappointed he isn't playing Austin Peay on the internet broadcast in front of 5-6,000 tonight.

He's just another good player going thru the Kentucky farm. At Arkansas he could have etched his name among the legends. His choice tho.

I don't quite understand this statement. I like watching great players.

This Monk kid is one if the top 15 players in the sport and he's just a baby! The kid is only 18!

What did the Monks do that make you feel venom towards them in that way?

You don't have to ask. And we don't have to go through it all over again. I hate Kentucky basketball. He's the enemy. I hope he never scores another point.

How many times does the subject have to be rehashed why people don't like the kid now? Yes, he is the enemy now because he chose a team that the hogs have to play. I don't wish the kid luck either. I wouldn't care if he scored another point the rest of the year either. I don't like him , marcus or nick 5000 because of how they played MA and the rest of hog nation while asking for donations for these tournaments they were trying to put on by trying to make everyone think that the hogs had a chance when they had already knew where he was going. As much as I hate Calipari , I have to thank him for making Monk and the rest of the turds blow their cover right after he visited Arkansas. If everyone remembers, calipari visited sunday night after Maliks visit on the hill and Malik committed on Monday to UK. If it hadn't of been for that, the Monks would have kept up their charade all the way up to the late signing day.

So yeah, there is a lot of dislike for how malik and marcus did things. If malik truly thought he was going to be great, he could have did it here on the hill just like portis had told him. He's already playing better than I ever thought he would in college, and he would have absolutely have put Arkansas back on the map of national relevence combined with what we have. In fact, we'd probably be a final 4 team with Monk. He would have been the main dude here. Gotten all the limelight(just like he wanted), and been a hero for his home state. But geez, how big of a head does one have to have??? Instead, he decided to spurn us, while trying to lie to us the whole time until Calipari stepped in like previously mentioned. So yes, there is still a lot of dislike and downright hate for this kid. But, stuff happens. Some kids think the grass is greener on the other side. That is fine. But, that doesn't mean the people who are hog fans have to like it. Or even root for the kid. I don't root for the kid. I don't wish him to get hurt or anything. That's just stupid. But, he isn't for us. And myself, like many others are not for him. Whatever he does , I do not care about. If he does well and makes it to the nba. cool. good for him. Hope he invests his money wisely. But, still doesn't mean I have to like the kid, which I don't, and I hope he and UK loses every game, especially when the hogs play UK. :)

Basketball is back, baseball always, football was a dumpster fire once again..... but as the phoenix rose from the ashes, BMF Petrino has risen again!!! Lots to look forward to.

As the rain falls, I realize, that some where out there, some one, is wearing a mask while they shower............

Yes Markelle Fultz is a as good as advertised but to say Fox and Ball wouldnt hold a candle to him is bit much...Wash and UCLA will meet up obviously so we will see those two (Ball vs Fultz) head to head twice. But they lost to Yale and got waxed by TCU back to back.
