He has started the last 3 mid-week games. Last week he gave up a run in 1.2 innings. The time before that he had a similar performance to this against Grand Canyon. I think he had 10 strikeouts in 4 innings, and allowed 0 runs on 5 hits. These mid-week games are pretty important when you are in the discussion for hosting or even a national seed, so having a quality starter for Tuesday or Wednesday is essential. I think he probably stays as a mid-week starter through next week when we play Kansas State, and then maybe becomes our Sunday guy or our 4th starter for tournament play.

Luckily we only have 1 more left after tonight, though. Keep him mid-week through next week, then all bets are off for our last 3 series when we don't have a mid-week. At the very least, he is looking like a decent 4th option in the event we play 4 games in a regional, or have 4 games in the SEC Tourney.

I don't have a problem with the bunt single with it being a 2 run game in the 7th, personally. If we were up 6-0 in the 9th I would, but at this point they are 1 swing away from tying it and Memphis is still trying to win. Sucks, but if it were us we would be happy we have a guy up with a chance to tie.
