Only reason I can think is that the ball beat Arledge by a lot, but the throw was high and on the 3B side of the bag so Arledge made it in pretty easily.

I was an ump for 4 years and had to go through a lot of professional development with some college and pro umps. Most of them that I was ever around were so stuck on themselves that it was tough to get anything out of the PD. They just pissed you off the moment you heard them talk. Stubborn and uncaring
