Morgan slowest WR, but 5th and 8th in the shuttle. Showing off Quickness.

Overall you can see how slow we were, yikes. Glad we have some speed on its way up.

Strong as a Ox, and decent in the agility drills....but slow as molasses on a cold Colorado morning!

Recruit speed and build on that, or cut back on the muscle building?

Could it be time for a new Conditioning Coach?

That is my resolution. I don't think the "Transformer" has changed our players into athletes who test well nor perform well. Just my opinion of course.

If you want elite speed you have to recruit it. No conditioning coach in the world is good enough to make brooks ellis run a 4.4

I agree.  Elite speed is born not made but hip rotation, flexibility and agility can be increased with proper training.  I am not sure we are doing enough of that here.  For instance, our OLM are horrible at bending, hip rotation and agility to block their man.  Is it all talent or is some of it muscle building/agility training?  Our LBs are really slow at covering and tackling in space so is it all talent or muscle building/agility training?  I do not know but I hope we get it figured out.

Maybe we are not getting our monies worth out of our weight training and agility staff?  These guys get our players more than the actual coaches so it is most important we are getting our best from them.  Of course if I am not mistaken the Head Coach tells that staff what he wants and what he expects so maybe it goes back to the Head Hawg.  I do not know but I hope they get it figured out.  We need better flexibility and more speed on the field if we are to see a better product.

Go Hogs.

Yes. Answered that question in another thread. Think it's a page or two back, but look for a title along the lines of "question about the combine".

Pretty much all of our guest excelled at hip flexibility. Check the 3 cone drill which tests how loose a player's hips are and how our players did in those drills.

I really was shocked on how well Brooks performed on the 3 cone drill and 60 yard shuttle.
He was 3rd for linebackers in the 3 cone: http://www.nfl.com/combine/top-performers#year=2017&workout=THREE_CONE_DRILL&position=LB
and 2nd in the 60 yard shuttle: http://www.nfl.com/combine/top-performers#year=2017&workout=SIXTY_YARD_SHUTTLE&position=LB

Here are the individual combine tracker pages for each player:

nice, we still need to recruit more speed.  especially on defense.  I think CBB may be a size over speed guy, but we need a serious upgrade on speed in the secondary.

Michael Grant, several years back now, ran a 4.37 or something like that in the combine.  we need someone like that, ON DEFENSE, that can clean up after broken plays.  it seems like most coaches like to put their fastest guys on offense.  I think sometimes they underestimate the value of speed on D.

Is there any rule governing the size of support staff you are allowed to employ if not maybe UA needs to step up and give the resources needed to succeed on the field too not just in the classroom.
