What teams from each P5 conference would you not mind having a low key rivalry?

For me I wouldn't mind a slight P5 rivalry with

Big 12: Oklahoma St, West Virginia
Big 10: Wisconsin, Iowa
ACC: North Carolina, Georgia Tech
Pac 12: Oregon, UCLA

You miss the boat.  A four team playoff is a championship.  A championship produces... a champion. You seem to be looking for the "best" team.  The "best" doesn't exist. Best does not equal champion.  Best is a myth.
Opinion polls produce... opinions.

NO Oklahoma teams. Too close. We have enough of that with Misery. I'd like to see a series with Notre Dame. Because I hate them.

NoogaHog

Big 12: Okie light, KState
Pac 12: Stanford (imagine, 15 TEs may see the field that day), Washington or Wazzu
ACC: NC state, GA Tech (1 hour from my home)
B1G: Nebraska, Michigan St. (Another MANSOME team like Stanford), Wisky, or Iowa

Big 12: Kansas, Iowa St., Baylor
Big 10: Purdue, Indiana, Northwestern, Maryland, Illinois
ACC: Duke, Wake Forest, Virginia, Syracuse
Pac 12: Oregon St., California, Washington St.

For the most part, these teams are historically pretty bad, so I think we could at least split with them on a year to year basis...win, lose, win, lose, win, lose...

I would like to play Oklahoma State.  Nice community and only 3 hours separate the schools, an easy drive for both fanbases.  They also are very friendly and have great brisket at Bad  Brad's BBQ East of town.

I agree and the Hogs used to play them almost every year, though it was probably before 1/3 of the members of this board were born, so establishing what could grow into a quasi-rivalry game with them might not seem relevant to some folks.

From 1950-1980 we played them 28 times (22-6) and 25 of those years we played them at WMS in Little Rock. I think that given the relatively short driving distance between Fayetteville and Stillwater that this would be a nice Turnpike series to establish with a steady home and home series for each team.

It would be a good regional team to play and would add to our exposure in Texas as a lot of Texas recruits watch their games (since they recruit Texas heavily) with them being in the B12. It couldn't hurt us at all and nationally, they would be considered to be a worthy opponent from a scheduling standpoint.

we need a 10 year series with Kansas and Indiana . Both from power 5 conferences and would offer more Northern attention. Plus both are teams that might be on the rise .

Ah yes the proverbial rivalry threads. There is no need for a "rival". As far as I'm concerned whomever the hogs are playing that particular day is the rival. There is absolutely no need to "build up" our try to "manufacture" a rivalry.
If I'm going to cheer players and coaches in victory, I damn sure ought to be man enough to stand with them in defeat.

That's sound, logical thinking right there. ;) Now would I like to have seen us having Notre Dame scheduled right now with the way they are playing? Yeah, probably. But if the right HC ever gets a hold of that team, they will be very good again. Even though their recruiting isn't what it once was they still have managed to get 3 top 15 classes, a top 20 class and a top 10 class over the past 5 years (2012-16). I haven't really taken a long look at them so I don't know what their problem is, but the talent is there to play a lot better than they do. Our conference schedule is difficult enough as it is, we don't need to be playing OOC teams that probably should be top 10 teams.

Big 12:  K. State--Okie St.-------------Would love to take on OK but really do not believe we could hold our own there.

Big 10:  Neb---Ill---Ind

Pac 12:  AZ and AZ state

ACC:  GA Tech---Clem---NC

UNLV --- self explanatory... cheap flight

Hawaii --- because I'd like to recruit big polynesian linemen

Iowa --- because I'd like to keep recruiting big ole talented mid west linemen like Ragnow

University of Houston--- because I have season tickets and would like to have more of these Houston recruits that feed four big time programs

Rutgers--- because it's a fun trip against a fun fan base... and there is gambling near by

Northwestern.... cheap flight and funncity ... should be a W too.

snoblind

I like the Oklahoma State idea, and perfectly fine with rotating the old SWC foes also.

what is a "low key rivalry"?

another way for someone to start a conversation that will devolve into how people do not like the ooc teams we play.

ACC- Louisville for obvious reasons. Wanna be a part of the motorcycle club ;D.
Big 12- Texas just because, well, I hate Texas. ::hornsdown::
Big 10- Wisconsin for obvious reasons.
Pac 12- USC for possible payback.
Independent- Notre Dame, don't know who I hate the most them or Texas :-\.

Rutgers.  Because I could eat a bowl full of lemons and not have as sour a taste as those two games left.

Wouldn't mind getting a series with Texas started again or any old SWC rival my only request is that is that when it's played on Arkansas soil it's played at WMS

Criteria for a non con game.

1) Big name opponent fans want to travel to see.
2) A school in an area with a large alumni base.
3) Proximity to the natural fan base to get fans to travel

Ben searching again for something to start a thread about by making something up that doesn't exist.

Ben, I don't know how old you are, but I think "low key" is a term used by youngsters today. Remember, we have a lot of old men on this thread , so they can't translate that. I think you mean something on the lines of a "semi-rivalry"
