There's a reason Arkansas' tagline on the court is the "fastest 40 minutes" in basketball

QuoteEven when the Razorbacks aren't putting up points by the barrelful, they're going to run. Arkansas did just that Saturday night at Auburn Arena, pushing the pace [early and] often...

"Gosh, the locker room was really down," Pearl said. "They're really disappointed."

Although Arkansas (22-7, 11-5 SEC) finished with only 12 fastbreak points, the Razorbacks were relentless in their effort to keep Auburn's defense on its heels all night. Auburn's offense didn't do its defense any favors, either, as the Tigers struggled with spacing and had issues executing on that end of the floor for much of the night, shooting just 13-of-38 on two-pointers.

"Our transition defense was an issue tonight, but it was more of a function of our offense," Pearl said. "You shoot 37 percent, and if we shoot a better percentage, we don't give up as many transition opportunities."

That 40 minutes of hell is a myth. Long gone with NR's teams. Do you think other schools can't run? I mean c'mon man the athletes of today are distributed all over the college populations and can run with anybody. Just because MA coached under NR doesn't make it a 40 minutes of hell team.  Just because MA coached under him doesn't make it so. It's a bunch of crap to think that the Hogs will go any further this year when they did a couple of years ago. The SEC is not a basketball school save Kentucky and some Florida. The SEC is a Football conference and to think that they will prevail as perennial contenders for a spot in the NCAA year after year is wishful thinking.

The one big factor that will prove zuko dead wrong is the fact that we are now signing some elite in-state basketball talent. Get the right combination on campus, and CMA will take them deep into the tourney. Probly not this year, but without question we are trending in the right direction.

QuoteAUBURN, Ala. — Minutes before Auburn and Arkansas tipped off Saturday night, cheerful Tiger fans filed into Auburn Arena.

With every "War Eagle," a combination of optimism and hope surfaced. Maybe tonight Auburn would have a defensive epiphany in the second half. Perhaps Bruce Pearl's squad would earn a signature win by upsetting the Razorbacks.

After [the fastest] 40 minutes of play, most of those same fans headed for the exits frustrated...

If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.

Other schools can run but they choose not to run. We choose to run. Rather it's on offense or defense we run, run, run. We run off of steals, rebounds, makes or misses. We get a steal and go. We get a rebound and go. We take the ball out of the net, inbound the ball and go. We get the ball and go. That's just what we do. That's why they call it the "Fastest 40". BTW you sound like your typical hater with no rhyme or reason for some of the things you say. Come up with some valid points as to why you think Arkansas basketball is a bunch of crap besides the "SEC" being a football conference then come back and talk basketball.
