Rising junior Boosie Whitlow is transferring. Whitlow had 14 tackles (5 for a loss) in all 12 games as a freshman in 2015. A former 3-star prospect, 247Sports rated the native of Opelika as the nationís No. 38 weak-side defensive end for the Class o' '15.

Florida had a surprise visitor on campus Saturday in Clemson offensive tackle transfer Jake Fruhmorgen.

The 2015 U.S. Army All-American from Tampa, Fla., considered UF during his recruiting process and made several visits to the school.

Saturday was his first time back on campus since 2013.

ďItís kind of funny seeing familiar faces. But it was also cool seeing the new facilities like the indoor (practice field)." -- Fruhmorgen

Expressed interest: Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Missouri, Ole Miss, Arizona, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Washington State, Nebraska, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, Louisville, Virginia, BYU and Hawaii.

He wonít transfer to another Big 12 school.

The day after he was granted his release, an assistant from Ole Miss showed up in Lubbock to start recruiting No. 51 overall recruit in the ESPN 300 in 2015.

Harris entered the 2016 season as the Tigersí starting quarterback. He had just 139 yards passing with 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions in games against Wisconsin and Jacksonville State before Danny Etling took over as LSUís starter.

Because he likely will graduate before the 2017 football season, Harris can transfer to another Football Bowl Series team and immediately be eligible.

Jacksonville State offensive lineman Casey Dunn has joined the program as a graduate transfer. Dunn was a two-time FCS All-American with the Gamecocks, who is from Trussville.

Dunn will not participate in the Tigersí spring practices, which start next week.

Jacksonville State, who took Auburn to overtime during the 2015 season, had the most total yards and rushing yards per game in the Ohio Valley Conference.

Dodd, a rising fifth-year senior who signed with the Tigers in 2013, plans to graduate in May, meaning he'll be able to transfer and play immediately this upcoming season without sitting out.

In a tweet, the Georgia native called the decision to transfer "not an easy one" but "in my best interest."

Will Clapp, the Tigers' two-year starting guard, could shift inside to replace Ethan Pocic at center.

ďStephen Davis Jr. is no longer with us.Ē Malzahn said.

In the weeks leading up to Auburnís first spring workout on Feb. 28, Davis was removed from the teamís online roster. Davis is the son of former All-SEC running back Stephen Davis, who played for Auburn from 1993 to 1995.

While initially expected to contribute at defensive back, Davis worked with Auburnís running backs following the dismissal of Jovon Robinson last August. The 6-foot-3, 206-pound freshman was later listed as a running back.

Malzahn was asked about Davisí standing on multiple occasions last season amidst rumors of the freshmanís absence, but the head coach offered little insight into the situation.

Davis was a late addition to the 2016 signing class (which ranked 9th nationally and 5th in the SEC) after lots of back-and-forth during his recruitment.

Davis was sidelined for most of his final preps season after suffering a torn ACL and MCL.

Hayden Rettig is on the move again.

The former LSU quarterback is on to the third school of his collegiate career, this time transferring to Tennessee Tech from Rutgers.

Rettig signed with LSU in 2013 but had decided to transfer by the following June. He played just four games for Rutgers during his two eligible seasons with the team.

ďItís a good fit,Ē Rettig told NJ.com, via 247 Sports. ďI think we can do a lot there. I love the coaches. I just wanted a place where I was needed, and Tennessee Tech was the place.Ē

Vanderbilt backup quarterback Wade Freebeck will not return for his senior season.

Freebeck was not present at the Commodoresí opening workout of spring practice Monday morning, and he also was taken off the roster on Vanderbiltís official website.

After practice, coach Derek Mason said, ďWade is looking at options right now. We would like to do whatever we can to make sure Wade is successful.Ē

Mason said Freebeck is ďvery close to graduating,Ē which would allow him to transfer to another FBS school and play immediately in the 2017 season...

Former Notre Dame quarterback Malik Zaire, best known as a fine understudy for Deshone Kizer while in South Bend, is looking for a team to join to wrap up his college career, and the Gators are reportedly in the mix. Zaire threw for a little more than 800 yards, 6 touchdowns and no interceptions in his time at Notre Dame. His best performance came in the 2014 Music City Bowl, when he was named MVP. Although he never received much run for the Irish, he was considered one of the best backups in the country while playing second fiddle to Kizer.

He may not have the best numbers for a senior QB, but there is no doubt that he was fine player when called upon. And with an injured Luke Del Rio as the only QB on Floridaís roster with experience, Zaire would compete for that starting job the moment he stepped on campus and probably win it. From there, who knows how it would affect Floridaís 2017 season.

But Zaireís decision isnít solely his. Because of an SEC rule that requires graduate transfers to reach certain academic benchmarks at their new school, and if they donít, a restriction is placed on the amount of graduate transfers the school can take in the future. Unfortunately for Florida, it accepted two graduate transfers in 2015 that didnít meet the requirements, and are currently barred from taking any more. The SEC is reviewing the rule, though.
