The Tulsa World for several years has someone known only as The Picker who writes articles and picks a few games of local interest each week.  The Dude is pretty good but his one liners are funny and profound.  A few examples this week.

An OU cheerleader said on the radio that OU has the best defense in the Big 12.  Picker says that's like saying Tulsa has the traffic cones of any city.

Picker says the Big 12 has recruiting drawbacks for defenses.  Who wants to spend 4 hours every Saturday chasing 5 yards passes.

Picker says the Memphis/Tulsa game on Friday night will need to outdraw the Jenks/Broken Arrow High School game.  Says the only sleep Memphis has got since beating Ole Miss is on the plane to Tulsa.

Picker says Medium Game Bob's specialty is medium sized games that mean little.  Picks OU by 24 over T. Tech because Tech's defense shows Big 12 tendencies, its lousy.

Says Auburn looks like a Big 12 team, its D is that weak.  Says the Arkansas QB is fine until pressure attacks.  Says Arkansas is playing for a Bowl in the SEC and in the Big 12, Arkansas would be playing for the final college playoffs.

Picker says the TU QBs jersey says, "all I do is run".

Others.  Why can't OSU run.  No talented runners.  Its always basketball season at Kansas.  Says Eli Manning has the body language of a Sad Sack.  Says Eli was a charm school dropout along with Flacco.  Accuses USC of being as overrated as OU on an annual basis.  K. State runs its offense out of the Stonehenge formation.

Says Miss and A&M are drifting to middle of the pack.  Aggies nothing special since Johnny Highball left.

The USC cheerleaders are the best of a fading conference.

Most of his oneliners are pretty accurate.
