HORRIBLE.  I had Miami and OVER.  I just knew I had it won.  4th down.  They get it, I win.  They don't, I win.  They throw a pick 6, I lose.  When I'm on a side in a particular game, the worst usually happens.  ;)

  • Making a couple of plays for this weekend. Not a whole lot I like going into the weekend.  Seems to be some really accurate and tight lines out there for this weekends action.

    Louisville -4....1*
for some reason, a couple of vegas books opened this line at -9 and it got pounded down to -4, where it started at most sportsbooks. To me, that just shows that there are a lot of people who looked at the Louisville game last week and see easy $$.  I believe that Louisville will be a more prepared team, especially facing Florida International.

    Michigan +4....2*
I just don't know why Notre Dame is giving up points here after getting whipped by USF.  Michigan is a better football team in my opinion and I don't see Brian Kelly getting past yr 3 at ND.

    Vandy -2....2*
I like what Vandy did last weekend, even though it was against Elon. I think Franklin has a chance to win 3 or 4 games this year, and that starts with the ooc. They may even scare some folks in the East and probably beat Ole Miss.

I may add another couple, I'm not sure yet.  I've learned from now on, I won't look at any trends or stats or bet % until after I make my picks.  G/L to all this week...and thank God or (insert your personal favorite diety here) for college football season.

  • Arizona tonight.
    Mizzou tomorrow night.

  • Arizona tonight.
    Mizzou tomorrow night.

I'm on the other side of the Ok St game, but not putting my money where my mouth is. G/L to you.

96% of the money coming in on the ML is on Mizzou, but 71% of the spread money is on ASU. Take that for what its worth.

I see why people are on Mizzou (100 to win 300 is a better payday than 110 to win 100), but Im staying away from it. Mizzou hasn't had temps in the 100's since the first week of August, and the temp for the game is 100 with Heat Index of 98. I see fatigue being a problem for them.

If you don't mind, what makes them look good to you?  Im always looking for new angles and information.

Where are you playing?  If you are playing a 2 team parlay the payout should be higher than that. 250 2 teamer should pay 625.

    Are you buying points?
  • #111 by Jeff "hogfanintx" Anderson on 08 Sep 2011
  • Tonight and I may be crazy but I played as follows

    Arizona +13.5 1 unit

    Over 66 2 units

2 team parlay same wAy 1 unit.

    I played

    Packer -4.5 1 unit

    Over 47 1 unit

    Parlay same wAy 1 unit.

  • Therxforum.com mainly...lots of good info over there. They post most service plays, which i use only as a tool to better my own bets. I don't follow touts blindly, but i will use their opinion if i am torn on which way to go. I may have a board with 10 games on it and narrow it down to 5, then if i have a game which all  my info leaves me right in the middle, i may look for some of the better touts to go one way or the other. But the main reason i use it is for the info they bring.
I also check sbr forums, but mainly rx.
thanks! i have been using thespread.com and covers.com forums.

this was my last week... Totals: risk $385.50 to win $596.76 amount paid $426.67

  • Missed big time on Louisville, totally had them overrated in my mind. Almost missed Mich, but ND really is not a good football team and shouldn't have been in that game like they were. Vandy had me scared though. I hit the other two games I was watching, Tenn v Cincy and Oregon v Nevada, but I never felt good enough to put them down. Should have gone with my gut...

  • I dont know if i'm cursed or what, but it seems when i post my picks i lose and if i just stay away, i win. Last season i didnt post in here and had a solid year...this year, not so much.

That said, I have a couple of solid games today in the NFL. I like Pitt +1 at Baltimore and I like Arizona -6 against the Cams. I like these picks a lot....i plan to right the ship today.

  • Went 3-0 on the weekend. Took Michigan, the Bama/PSU under, and the Auburn/MSU over. Haven't seen any early lines yet but am curious about the line on OU/FSU. Thinking it will be OU by 3-4.
  • #130 by sir-pigs-a-lot on 11 Sep 2011
  • wowza...put 250 on the niners against the seahawks. With the niners up 9, TJAck blows up for 55 yards to cut it to 2....ensuing kickoff puts me back on top for the spread. This is nuts.

The Cardinal win was for 250...1-1 on the day, one pending and i got some action on the sunday night game. Really need the niners to hold on.

  • -250 on the parlay on thursday
    -75 on the steelers
+ 250 with the niners, +250 on the cardinals, +250 on the cowboys.

    Previous week Bankroll= 1670
    Week 2 Earnings = 425
    Current bankroll =2095

Ive got 150 on the broncs tonight, so this will change barring a push. All in all a solid weekend.

  • A few interesting lines out:

Auburn at Clemson (-4) liking Auburn despite the taste of bile in my mouth
OU at FSU (+3.5) leaning towards taking OU
Okie St at Tulsa (+14) liking Okie St
Ohio St at Miami (-2) toss up
    LSU at MSU (+3.5) TBD

Yeah, like MSU is still a good team and playing at home, even though they looked kinda bad last week.  LSU has had everything their way so far, but I'm not so sure they're as good as they've looked.  We'll see Saturday.  Sure looks like the books want LSU money, though, meaning they'll probably win by 3 or less or lose outright (I think the line is 3.5).

  • I know this does not pertain to anyone on here  ;) but I have an honest question. I have been trying to read up on the legality and finding different opinions. Is Online offshore sports investing on college football legal? Some say it is, some not. Also that it is illegal for U.S. banks to accept any money from these accounts. Also that even though you may not be able to get your money, you still owe taxes on it. Thanks in advance.

  • Looks like I may have more picks than normal this week.

I'm starting this week out with a couple of picks based completely on line movement.
    WV +3....1*
    UTEP +3....1*
What happened here was that both of these teams opened up as 2 point favorites, and the betting has pushed the line to what you see above.  Ive not seen that kind of movement very often and I want to see if I have a pretty good read on this.

    Vandy +1.5....2*
Vandy has been good to me so far this year, and I don't see them slowing down. Ole Miss is in shambles on offense with 3 or 4 QB's already seeing playing time in 2 games. I think Vandy could get off the Eastern Division cellar this year.

    Ball St -5.5....1*
Ball St and Bowling Green have almost always been profitable investments for me over the years.  Im not sure why, but they have.  For some reason this one just stood out to me, so I'm going with my gut.

    Ohio St +2.5....3*
Ohio St is a better football team than Miami, and they don't have 1/2 the distractions that Miami has. Besides, with HPA, the line is pointing to a 1/2 point Buckeyes win. I'll buy the hook to be sure.

    Oklahoma St -13.5....2*
I just don't understand how Ok ST is favored over Tulsa by LESS than they were over Arizona.  Playing at Tulsa and whatever rivalry there is aside, Ok St should be able to name their score against an overmatched Tulsa team.

still got a couple I'll be watching over the next day or so. Texas v UCLA, Miami of Ohio v Minnesota and Stanford v Arizona.

I think they could look ahead blind folded and still cover that line.
