Actually I don't think his "report" on the game was that far off when you consider that it was a fan of another team.  Also that game was all he had to go from.  I'm not sure I'd say Ryan was pressured 1/2 the time, but he did have to move around about that much.  Granted it was only moving around in the pocket but he was still moving.  The guy gave RM props for having to move and still being accurate.  If I didn't know that Smith only had a handful of carries, that SMS was playing 8 or 9 in the box, and that our line pretty much had a vanilla blocking scheme I'd be worried a little about the running game as well.

All in all the original post wasn't too bad, but many of the following posts reinforce the reason that there are so many Aggie jokes.

Locker room bulletin board material. Make's 'em mean and nasty.

Stopped reading after he said Mallet didn't have much protection and was hurried half the time. WTH? He wasn't watching the same game I watched.

This and the guy's comment about Wingo having no talent leaves absolutely
no doubt that the Guy is a BLOOMING IDIOT!   ::) ::)

I don't think his assessment of Dennis Johnson being slow is correct at all.. Wasn't Johnson clocked as the fastest guy on the team before the new players came in?

This was like a pre season NFL game for Petrino. He was strictly testing the waters. Our biggest problem on offense is our Oline is not getting the push on short yardage. Petrino is going to have to be creative on his short yardage play calling.

If we don't run for 200 yards against A&M we will pass for 400 yds. But I would actually like to see both.

Relax. I guarentee you that if any other team stacks 8 or 9 in the box, Mallett will do
something it was obvious he and Wilson were told not to do last Saturday night. It's
called an "Audible". He or Wilson will change the play and catch defenses flatfooted.

BP says he's still the fastest player on the team.

I didn't realize our backs were so bad...  ;)

We averaged 4.8 yards per carry and our best RB only ran the ball 4 times (and he averaged 10.8 yards per carry).

I doubt Petrino will have them checking off many times on 3rd and 1. Those situations will be directed by Bobby and Paul. Now 1st and 2nd down are different situations and Mallett is excellent on recognizing defenses. Tyler has a ways to go on checking off like Mallett and he will be used on packages where it is not needed as much.

I thought it looked like a pretty fair assessment considering it game from an opposing fan. I agree our RB's didn't run very tough. However, I do they they have a lot of talent and are better than was showed Saturday. I also agree our special teams play was atrocious and our run blocking has a lot of room for improvement.

Another point he made that stuck with me is what kind of physical shape we'll be in after Georgia and Alabama. The preseason wasn't kind to on injuries and we lost Crawford on Saturday (granted we are mega deep at reciever). Makes me worried about how we'll hold up over the next few weeks.

SRFL, please called that Holden guy out for this comment:

"As I said in my original post he is an amazing runner. I compared him to our 5 star back Christine Michael, high praise IMO."

I about shat my pants when I read that, Michael Smith being compared to a freshman running back with 11 total carries. Unbelievable.

Guys what do you expect him to say. He is an Aggie.  They play on natural grass so their cheerleaders can graze.
Thanks for that insight, junior high.

aTm doesn't have cheerleaders. Just yell leaders. They're a special breed.

jobiegohog

say what you want but other than smith and davis's one carry our backs went down rather easy. i was kind of disappointed.  no leg drive or yards after hit except from the smallest back we have. sec linebackers aint gonna tiptoe they are gonna light you up.

aaaactionvp

I would give an aggie report but unless they play the SEC, Texas or OU, they are never on TV.

"Ryan may be the best QB in the country, better than Sam, Tim, Colt and Jevan."

If I ever see Jevan's name mentioned in the same sentence as Ryan Mallett, Sam Bradford, Tim Tebow, or Colt McCoy I am gonna go ape $***.  The QB at Ole Piss is not the same caliber of player as the others mentioned.

But many thanks to the author of this for the mad props to RM.

After he states that Mallett was on the run 1/2 of the night, I considered this an over zealous fan who is peeing his pants after seeing us.....and then his team and understanding the true butt kickin coming to his team in Arlington.....I also stopped reading his crap.....who the f cares what he thinks

Yeah that's hilarious he would claim Mallett had any problem at all.  Good lord.

Petrino doesn't tell the QB's wether or not to check off. They read the defense and
make the decision on their own. That's part of BP's offense. If a play is called on 3rd
and 1 that Mallet or Wilson realize is a bad play, they will audible out of it instead of
running it and not making the first down. They may come to the line of scrimmage
and read something that BP didn't see when he called the play.

Did anybody happen to notice how well the Aggies played in their first game?  They are no pushover.

They will probably score some points.  But, we'll score 20+ more.

How do you get a one armed aggie out of a tree, wave at him.

I do not believe they will be pushovers either.  Their last class was rated higher than ours and for 2010 ESPN ranks their class at # 10.  The great unknown is their head coach.

LOL can't wait to PASS AND THROW FOR OVER 250 ON THE HAGGIES.  Everyone remember this, Mallett will throw for over 250 and 3 td's, and our running game will stack up over 250 with 2 td's. This game will be a joke.
Sometimes it takes a loss to make us realize what's really important
