Yep but the fans bring them anyway   Nothing like Bullybells.
If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.

I tried to watch some of their game . that's just embarrassing to  the sec for that crap to continue. thought i was watching a soccer game.

I thought the SEC had said several years ago they were going to assess unsportsmanlike penalties to Miss St for the cowbell fans?

You know how things go at MisStake U.  When the AD told'em cowbells were "banned" they thought he said "band" and they were all so proud when they told their mommas he didn't have the heart to explain it to'em.

They would, if the players didn't outnumber the fans at those games.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

There was a Miss. State fan ringing a bell outside War Memorial yesterday. Dumb @zz.

Watched a few snaps of the Miss. State game - love how they've tried to copy DWR's replay screen w/ a slightly smaller version of their own just over their athletic complex - freakin' copycats

Of course, what would you expect from the sesspool that is Starkville  . . . . . .

I hate MSU as much as the next guy, but their screen makes ours look like an outdated computer monitor. I was very impressed last year when I saw it. It's HD and the picture is amazing, and it's actually bigger than ours. I will agree that we did it first, so they are in a way copying us, but ours is old and we need to one up them now!

However, they are planning on adding a ribbon board now, which obviously blatant copycatting! lol

Also, I'll say again....I hate MSU! WPS

rkjones

I went and played in the Razorback pep band for the MSU game last year.  I had nightmares about cowbells for weeks.

No one volunteered to do the full-cavity search on that crowd.  So, alas, those cracking loud cowbells are still somehow smuggled in.

Here's my theory on this issue:  Yes, those damn cowbells are banned from games but the SEC doesn't care about it BECAUSE.....it's Mississippi St.  If it was FL or LSU they would probably say that the noise is an advantage to them. But since it's MSU and they suck anyway then it definitely cannot be argued that the noise is an advantage to the home team.

...or more likely, LSU and FL would get special permissions, while the Hogs would be made to forfeit the game.   ;)

Our screen doesn't look that bad, and I'm sure Jeff Long will get w/ Saaco to update our screen to HD,if it's not done already.  Like most of the screen manufacturers, I'm sure we have a rep that checks on us annually to make sure we've got what we need or to perform any upkeep/maintenance on the display - I'm sure it's part of the package deal when you buy someone's screen.

We have been over this ad nauseum every year.

but to recap..

1. Yes they are banned.

2. We don't give a darn. This one is very important.  It is a tradition, whether you agree with or not or whether you like it or not. We really don't give a darn if you or any other fan of other teams like them and why should we?

3. The SEC has rules in place to penalize State or any team with artificial noisemakers, first time is a warning, second time is a 5 yard penalty, third time is 15 yards and loss of down, but as you can see, these are game penalities.  Who calls game penalties?  To get you up to speed, referees call them.  Originally, this was only for SEC games only, the SEC had no such rule in place for OOC games..In 2006, they added OOC games as well, and we still don't care.

4. Being that you are Hog fans, if it bothers you that much, it is easy to rectify on your side...don't watch a MSU game or don't attend if we are not playing the Hogs.  I mean how hard can that really be?  I certainly don't tune in to watch Hog games if we are not playing y'all.  I find the hayseed pig shout out is beyond borderline retarded, but hey it's your TRADITION so I won't say much more about it.

5. UAbandalum, get some new glasses..that is not a copy of the Arkansas video board, it is bigger and in HD.  But even if it was, you have heard of imitation being the sincerest form of flattery, right?  In case you haven't, that means that if someone copies what you do, they think what you are doing is top notch.  If you think programs don't look at other programs around the country to see what is working and try to duplicate it, then you are sorely mistaken.

Razorback Homer

A buddy of mine went to a State game a couple of years ago. He walked into the stadium behind some State fans who were carrying cowbells.  When he asked to usher/ticket taker if the cowbells weren't banned, the usher smiled and asked, "What cowbells?  I don't see any cowbells."

It's hard to enforce a ban when the ushers look the other way.

Hey back in our SWC days I had lots of friends from the Delta go to MSU.  I had several fine weekends in the Spring in Starksville.  I for one love the Cowbells and wish on the HS level AAA would lighten up.   The NCAA like AAA is sucking all the fun out of the game.

Ugly Uncle

It is tradition.  I think the NCAA already does to much to remove traditional things.  So what if they bring their cow bells.  I wouldn't care if there were artificial noise makers in every stadium, as long as it was part of their tradition to have it.

I actually like the tradition of the cow bells and it comes from an interesting story.

Oh, and MSU dude, our Hog call is not nearly as hay seed as why you have the tradition of cow bells...so...

But let the cowbells go.  No big deal.

I never said the screen was a DIRECT copy of ours, I just said you all are copycats for putting it over your athletic complex, if you want to call it that.  Same goes for your stadium, if you want to call it that, too.  Yeah, you all are really cutting-edge at Davis-Wade Stadium - you're #11 in the SEC in stadium capacity - just in front of Vanderbilt - something to be proud of and right where you were before your pathetic excuse for a stadium expansion.  In fact, your entire roach-infested, sesspool of a town that is Starkville is pretty pathetic, which explains why most fans going to one of your home games doesn't bother staying in the trailer-park motels there and just stays in Columbus - it's actually safer there.  You won't catch malaria from a nest of roaches in your motel bathtub.
