This guy redshirted last year and will replace daniel, http://rivals100.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=1&pr_key=55586

he looks pretty good. Mizzou plays in a really weak conference, they could be one of the top 2-3 pretty consistently. Pinkel is a good coach.

Did not redshirt.  Played in all our blowouts and obvious none in our losses.

Pinkle believes in playing his QB's that are going to take over the next year even if they are true freshman.

Daniel played in the first series of the second quarter during his true freshman year.

Yeah, I know they have that guy.  They had their best team ever this year and have lost 4 games already.  Pinkel is an average coach.  And yes, their division is $hit, but Nebraska and Kansas State are going to cause them more problems in the future.  They're average and always will be, especially on defense.

Missouri will do well in the Big XII North for the next few seasons, no doubt;  they simply lack the horses to go toe to toe with OU or Texas in the long run, though.   At best, they'll be like Tech was this year-- able to upset one of the major powers, and put together a solid run against the lower half of the conference.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

I think they'll have 4 losses minimum each year after Daniel/Maclin leave.  Pelini's doing a good job down at Nebraska and I think they'll be contending for the North very soon, as well as Kansas State and Colorado (not to mention the Big XII South schools they'll have to play each year).  They're headed back to mediocre just as soon as 1-2 of the teams in their division become above average/bad again (KSU, Nebraska, Colorado).  I think it'll happen very soon.

I really wanted this young man to both qualify academically and choose the Razorbacks.  However, I can't fault him for choosing his home State school.  I also can't fault him for his quotes in the article regarding Missouri.  What should he have said?..."I wanted to go to a team that will probably finish middle of the pack in the conference and won't sniff a championship during my playing career."  Let's not forget that these are 18 year old kids.

As for me, I wanted him to be a Hog from the start as I really believe he could have been a major contributor in an area that we need more talent and depth.  Now, that he has made his choice, we need to move on to other talented d-linemen to fill our needs.  If the young man changes his mind before his signature on the LOI, and we have room, I would welcome him to the Razorback Nation with open arms.

Agreed.  It's still funny to me that he thinks (or at least said publicly) that Missouri is becoming a national powerhouse program and that he thinks they'll win a NC during his time there.

Just funny, that's all.  I've heard that he won't qualify anyway.

Him qualifying may be in issue.  He doesn't yet have the scores yet on the ACT/SAT but does have the grades from what I've heard.  He took the ACT 2 weekends ago.

Also, as far as Mizzou winning a NC, yeah, I'm not so sure that will happen while he's there, but between Mizzou and Arkansas, I think Mizzou has the better chance.

Obviously, we disagree there.  But, I'm not talking about choosing between Arkansas/Missouri.  I'm simply talking about Missouri becoming a national powerhouse, like he mentioned.  Not going to happen.  In fact, I think they went about as high as they can go last year, which was a Cotton Bowl berth.

Like I said, the only thing that Missouri has going for them is a HORRIBLE division.  Otherwise, they'd be no better than 9-4 or 8-5 each year.  Again, they'll be mediocre again once 1-2 teams from the North show any sort of vital signs (probably next year).

Yeah, Mizzou being a National Powerhouse is a little out there, I agree.

However, I think we can be consistantly a 9 win team each and every year like you said and perhaps contend for a BCS bowl game each year.  We might not get that bowl game, but I think we are on the right track.  I'd take a 9 win season consistantly and the occasional 10 win season.  These days, 9 or 10 wins, or even 8 wins a year is a decent year.

Yes, we are in a horrible division now.  But Nebraska is coming back and eventhough KU didn't have the year they wanted, they can be good as well.

Have a Merry Christmas everyone.

Perhaps he has aspirations of being a journalist? If so he made the right choice
Because the quality of the education should be a recruit like SR's determining factor for finding a college....nahhh

Pinkel is a good coach? Compared to who? I live in Missou, and he isn't that well respected here for his football "accumen". I think he is a joke... take away Brad Smith (the former QB) and Chase Daniel -- this team would get smoked in the SEC or the big 12 SOUTH. He is lucky that the north is so pathetic for the last couple of years.

Good luck to Richardson, can't fault a man for wanting to play at home.

I will never blame a home State kid for going to the State school.  However, if he thinks Mizzou is a powerhouse, he is about to learn a hard lesson.  Missouri will not return soon to being a doormat, but their days of sniffing the top 10 are definitely over for a while.
