I think you WAY overestimate Gus's importance to the BAC. I seriously doubt that anyone at the UA gives one rat's ass how he does at TU.

I'm still waiting for you to compare and contrast Gus' playcalling, game strategy, and clock management with Houston's.

I'm sure they aren't concerned with Gus' future success, only they are, IMO, concerned that Gus will make Houston look bad by succeeding as an offensive coordinator.

The simple fact that Arkansas was embarrassed one way does not preclude Tulsa from being embarrassed in a different fashion.

Ugly is still ugly, whether it comes from a turnover-fueled meltdown, or a consistent game long out-athleting.   We've seen OU's class in the last possession;  3rd and 1 in Tulsa territory, nursing a 34 point lead, and they chuck it down the field.

I'll say it again. We would've been even scarier on offense last season if we had implemented just a little bit of the HUNH. McFadden, Jones, Hillis, Mustain, Williams and Monk in that offense? Good Lord. It's not like we would've abandoned the running game anyway. Gus had a heck of a running game at Springdale. He tailors his offense around the players he's got. In this case he's got no o-line and no RBs therefore Tulsa has to throw it all around and use misdirection to compete. That's what smart coaches do.

Tulsa ran eleven more plays than OU. Considering they're playing a defense whose line has a 100+ pound advantage on their o-line, you would expect the offense to be pushed around on the field and put away quickly.
