We didn't have a QB that could run or pass nearly as good as TU's.  That offense is relying on a very mobile QB.  DMac is the only player who could QB that offense for us.  

Uh....I'm thinking we had a QB who was 8-0 as a starter last year who was at least MILDLY knowlegeable concerning the offense.

Unfortunately he was able to play well enough at the college level to keep the job.

I don't know if that would be the case if OU actually was trying right now...when you see Tulsa on the schedule...you sorta get to skate through effortlessly!!!

thanks.  It's because these announcers have no idea what this offense is.  They have a guy in the booth that made the statement Lord of the Hogs made and people think it's a fact.  Just like last season during the USC game the announcer says "you can run in this offense but it's extremely hard" as Felix runs for over 20 yards right after that was stated.

overall, Tulsa has looked pretty impressive on the offensive side of the ball.  They have put up good numbers against the #2 defense in the country, with far less talent and first year head coaches.

the biggest flaw that i see in this offense is the time.  you run more plays on offense, and in the case tonite defense as well.  This game was 3 hours in before the 4th quarter ever got started.

Gus has implemented a very good and unique offense in a short period of time and he will make a great head coach someday.
