OSU looks like crape. Don't know if anyone has noticed.

Not sure if that is good news for Arkansas or bad news for OSU/Florida, but it is definitely something.

I think its in part due to people short-selling Troy, but there is a considerable short-week factor coming into play-- then again, Troy is playing on the same short week, but its always harder for the bigger school to get up for these games.

Loving the Troy program right now.  I think it makes us look better, for sure.  Troy reminds me of FSU about 30 years ago:  Play anybody, anywhere.  That's how the reputation gets made and Troy is making it with that philosophy.

Their schedule hardened them to bigtime competition so they just believe they are going to kick OSU's arse after FL and us.

Can't wait for that GA game.

Hutt to OSU?  That would be the sweetest reward of all!

boone pickens must be rolling in his grave
If he was in one, I am sure he would be rolling in it and trying to get out.  He is still alive and was at the game.

That's funny stuff right there.

The real Hogules

Lest we forget, it was Troy's and Arkansas' first game of the season.

It's plain to see that Troy has improved since week one, we've yet to see Arkansas play since the season opener.

Today will tell us alot about whether we have improved, as Alabama in Tuscaloosa will be a stern test.

Haugabook turns in classic as Troy thumps Oklahoma State
  Sep. 15, 2007
CBSSports.com wire reports

TROY, Ala. -- Omar Haugabook passed for a career-high 371 yards and a touchdown and ran for 49 yards and two scores as Troy upset Oklahoma State 41-23 in a dominating performance Friday night.

It was only the second win in 10 tries for the Trojans of the Sun Belt Conference against a Big 12 opponent. Led by Haugabook's passing and running, Troy outplayed the Cowboys throughout, gaining 562 total yards to 432 for Oklahoma State.

Troy (1-2) played an aggressive, emotional game in front of the home crowd after opening the season with lopsided road losses to No. 16 Arkansas and No. 5 Florida. It was possibly Troy's biggest win since Sept. 9, 2004, when then-No. 17 Missouri, also of the Big 12, came to Troy and was upset by the Trojans 24-14.

A group of about 100 fans tore down one of the goal posts within minutes after the game ended and paraded it around the field.

It was another bad day away from home for the Cowboys (1-2), who are 2-9 in their last 11 road games. They had four turnovers and had trouble all night keeping up with the speedy Troy offense.

The start of the game was delayed for 41 minutes because of lightning as thunderstorms from the remnants of Hurricane Humberto passed through the area.

But the Trojans were not slowed by the delay or the wet field as they took control in the opening minute and dominated the first half.

On Oklahoma State's first play from scrimmage, Troy's Boris Lee recovered a fumble by Keith Toston, setting up a four-play, 23-yard scoring drive for the Trojans. It was the first of two fumbles by Toston that Lee would recover in the first half. Haugabook threw 5 yards to Kennard Burton for the score with 13:53 left in first quarter.

Haugabook was unstoppable in the first half, passing for 223 yards, mostly from the shotgun in a no-huddle offense, and running for another 33 yards.

The Trojans extended their lead to 13-3 late in the first quarter on a 5-yard scramble by Haugabook to cap a 13-play, 79-yard drive.

Early in the second quarter, Leodis McKelvin returned an Oklahoma State punt 74 yards for a touchdown. It was the fifth career punt return for a touchdown for McKelvin.

Oklahoma State narrowed the margin on a 4-yard scoring pass from Zac Robinson to Brandon Pettigrew with 8:43 left in the half, but the Cowboys could not sustain the momentum.

The Trojans followed with a 9-play, 80-yard drive that ended with a trick play -- a 17-yard scoring pass by receiver Gary Banks to Mykeal Terry.

Troy took the second half kickoff and drove 80 yards in 13 plays -- scoring on a 2-yard run by Haugabook. The Trojans tacked on another score late the in the third quarter on a 3-yard run by Sean Dawkins.

The Cowboys tacked on two meaningless fourth-quarter scores on 1- and 2-yard runs by Julius Crosslin.

Pretty close game right now. Troy up 7-0 early in the 1st.

Will this game shed any more light on how good Arkansas is if Troy does well?

Game on ESPN2

NO!!!! Not at all.

Gundy pulled the dumas of the week (or year) award for this performance.
Nice to leave your best QB (who was said to be nearly back to full speed) on the bench.
Zac Robinson is a RS Sophomore who didn't even complete 50% of his passes last year in mop up duty.

Very, very odd play.  And, Troy took them to task for it.
Trojans look like the best in the SBC.  This should not reflect on Arkansas' or Florida's win.
This should speak for Pokie State's erratic play and the mental lapses of their head coach.

okstate better go down in price for those tickets now.

i would love to see okstate come after nuttjob. He could go over there where they are satisfied with just going to bowls. He'll be very happy over there.

but mike Holder and Boone Pickens are in love with Gundy. Gundy keeps his job unless they go 2-6 or 1-7 in the big 12.

A team that would rather beat Troy by 20, than lose by 18?
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

wooly

Were those Miles players?

I couldn't figure out if this is his 3rd year at LSU.

This is Miles 3rd year at LSU;  some of the upperclassmen are Miles recruits, but the skill positions are very young in general.

They didn't miraculously appear on the roster out of the ether.

QuoteAnd yet people still bring up us going to the Big 12.  No thanks

yea and im sure OU, Texas, Texas a@m, NU, ect would have all had the same outcome in Troy last night.

OU would have threw for about 600 yards on them while Troy may not have scored a point.

That being said pleaaassssseeee let Nutt take the OSU job.
