Are the hogs being wrongfully written off?  This team seems to be somewhat decent.  How does this influence perception of the game for tomorrow?  Is this not the same OSU team that was slaughtering Bama last year before bama almost pulled off a miracle win?  Will UGA get an L from Troy this year?  I'll shut up and listen.
Well, it's 2007 and not 2006 so no it's not the same OSU team. You guys who go around comparing scores are wasting oxygen.
Each game stands on it's own merits. If you want to know if one team can beat another one wait until they play. That's the only way to know.

Weren't they tied with Georgia at the half?  I'm trying to remember.

Nope.  They were down 21-14 at half at Athens.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

OSU can't even get a catchable tipped pass.

OSU sucks.  Perhaps we're reading too much into this?

They played "#13 Georgia" fairly decent...better than they played Troy.  And it was @ Georgia also I believe.

EDIT: Looks like someone beat me to it on my point, but you get the idea lol.  I'm more excited now than I was before I heard this score, especially since I heard quite a lot of talk of OSU having one of the top offenses in the nation this year...yeah right.

Who would you goofy "folks" replace Houston with as a coach?

VandyHog

Troy loses a lot of size when their third string defense is in the game.

oh I hope OSU hires an alum for their new coach.

One more game I think to watch is the Louisville vs Kentucky game.  Does Louisville's lack of D show the potential for upset?

I bet our new AD with close ties to OU could raid their pantry of coaches pretty easy.

Lots of mistakes on both teams...Troy should be up 70 to 42.

Troy is just abusing the Oklahoma State wide receivers.

Troy is the class of the Sun Belt.  They are not a bad team traditionally.  Beat Missouri, beating OSU, and gave LSU all they could handle at Baton Rouge.  Sun Belt is somewhat better this year overall looks like.  MTSU hung with Louisville and put up the points, ASU hung with Texas.  Playing Troy first game of the season was dangerous, more dangerous than many thought.  Razorbacks had some minor trouble but pulled away fairly easily.....should be glad of a good win there and not so hard on the Razorbacks for that game I think.

Reaganite

1st and goal, OSU, must be time for another turnover. :)

I think that second half against Florida last week gave Troy a lot of confidence. They looked shaky against Arkansas except for the 2nd quarter. They got down big to the Gators but make a decent comeback. They look great tonight.
The other thing is obvious. It's a hell of a lot easier to keep your composure at home than at places like Fayetteville and Gainesville.

Its tough to gauge.  While I'm not overwhelmed by our opening week performance now, I do feel a bit better after Hougabook put up nearly 400 yards on the Okie State secondary/

whatsshakinbacon

This OSU quarterback is unbelievably bad.  I've never seen more passes thrown into double coverage in a college game.  They aren't necessarily off target, just slow and ripe for the picking.  If OSU had stuck with its running game they just might have been in this game.

Bacon out...

True. However, if we win against Bama and win all the rest till Auburn, I wouldn't mind the students ripping our goalposts down. ;)

I can't believe that. Waaaahahahahaaaa!!!  I guess it's a pretty big deal for them.  I do seem to remember fans tearing down the goalposts at a Mizzou v. KU showdown in a battle not to be the worst team in the Big 12.

Considering that this is the first win by a Sun Belt Team over a BCS opponent  since Middle beat Vandy in Nashville Jay Cutler's final season...yeah its a pretty big deal

According to what Troy showed, we are right up there with them, which gives me confidence. That is assuming (of course) Troy is a good indication, which they may or may not be. If they are, though, we are in very very good shape. ;)

Maybe a hint but nothing to be sure of. Do you happen to remember what the Razorbacks did after that infamous loss to
The Citadel ? They beat the living crap out of South Carolina. I'm sure Gamecock fans thought it was going be a blowout and it was. Just not the one they expected.
Pay attention. If you think comparing scores is a good way to pick games try it with some money on the line. You will lose your ass.

novack2

Haven't read any of the thread, but did watch the game. Troy took those little kids to the woodshed tonight. Their quarterback still throws like an average high school qb. They have some receivers that will go get it. OSU was just sitting back all night letting them get anything they wanted. Troy was definitely in better condition.

And yet people still bring up us going to the Big 12.  No thanks.
