Love watching folks use the term "Lock", now I've got some nice bets to Fade this weekend!

well I will be betting the ones I mentioned so if you want to fade them I would just as soon take your money as win it on line.
Let's make some waves.

Kinda like the USC game, haven't researched the rest yet. Just hate seeing the word "lock" usually a jinks when it is thrown around on a game. You go ahead and bet those on-line, I usually don't play that many games per weekend.

I've won 61% this season and am up over $600, so here are my best bets.
Florida State -6 Colorado
Arkansas +3.5 Alabama
Tease: Texas -13 C Florida
           USC -4 Nebraska
I as well like the OU/US and KY/Lou overs, whatever they end up at.

Wild Pick: Middle TN +40.5 LSU
Middle TN put up a lot of points last week, and w/ Flynn a question mark they should put up a respectable showing.  They had a good game against them last year, and I think we'll catch LSU looking forward to SEC play.  Plus LSU hardly ever goes for more then 50 and never 60.

Dream on.  Those nuts are loosening as we speak.  Can you hear them?  I can.  The first wheel comes off the Gus Bus Saturday night.  We will lose by 10.  Locks of the week.  Add one over on Lousisville and Kentucky.  ROLL TIDE!

lol I hear ya.  I only used it because thats the word used by whomever started this thread.  The usc game I have already bet.  I am afraid the line will start climbing as we get closer to the weekend.  like the arkansas game I would bet that one for anything.  it a freaking coin toss.  basically the same for tn getting 8 against florida.  won't be touching it either.  and no way in hell im touching michigan and nd.  nobody knows what could happen there.

BYU -7 over Tulsa.  BYU is a lock -- bet the farm, they're going to crush Tulsa by 3 TDs at least.

OU -46 over Utah St.  After the last couple of weeks, I'd want in on that bet.  I'd be surprised if Utah St scores.

Give me $50 on Tulsa +21???

I'd like some of that action too!  Count me in for 50 on Tulsa +21 !

I'd take Tulsa as well, but for me, that would break Rule #1:  never bet a game based on an emotional reason (i.e. Gus).

If someone wants to give me +21, it's not even about emotion, it's about common sense.  In fact, make it $150 on Tulsa +21.
There is no sacred ground for the conquered.

So is Nebraska.  The Huskers are going to run all over those boys.  This weekend we find out if usc's learned to play defense.

Wow...if not for the felony charge...I would luv to be the bookie for some of u.
USC will knock out Nebraska by a big number.  ( like someone said earlier...a leave no doubt kinda score)
Arkansas as a dog with our hammers in the backfield and the no talent d line at BAMA...we win big as well
Tulsa...no talent.  Thats all I can say there...take BYU
I kinda like that middle tenn bet if u can get over 42.  Thats a huge number.
And finally....I LUV Louisville.  Everyone on this board is giving Kentucky waaaaaaaaaaaay to much street cred.
They are still Kentucky and Louisville will win going away...
:D :D

Note to readers............................I quit betting 3 years ago because I never one......... :puke:

Are you freaking kidding me?  USC would probably cover if the line were double what it is now.  You must be a Nebraska or rabid big 12 fan.  Either way.  I learned a long time ago.  Never ever bet with your heart.  That's why I won't be touching the AR Bama game.  No clue that's really a toss up.

Oh, come on, LSU couldn't even stop our running game last when they knew EXACTLY what we were going to do. 'Bama doesn't have a chance, not this year. They're bringing boys up against a bunch of future NFL 1st round draft pick skill position players. Regardless (or, irregardless) of how lousey our head coach is, and our Pop Warner passing game, if you don't think McFaddin and Jones will be ready, you're not thinking clearly. Every tackle they miss (and you know they'll miss a few) can potentially result in 6. Hogs by a lot.
I support the Razorbacks in the city that never sleeps.

USC -12 at Lincoln.  Three words on USC!  Speed Speed and more Speed.  Any thoughts or additions.

you are rediculous if you think bama will stop the run.  his \"dogs\" happen to be one of the worst d lines in the sec.

what a joke....

It's not ridiculous to think Bama can stop the run when you consider they don't have to worry about a vertical passing game...unless they are forced to.  We know that won't happen, so Bama will focus on stopping the run.  Whether they do or not remains to be seen.  However, Alabama and Defense are synonymous and I wouldn't write their DLine off just yet.

This will be a fun game to watch in terms of play calls / adjustments by the coaching staffs.  I hope Arkansas can pull it out.

If this game comes down to coaching we are in trouble !

I think Kentucky might lose by double-digits.  Yes, they can score, but The Ville put a lock on Woodson more than they lock down Brohm.  Not going to touch that game.

Buffalo might get a late TD.  Morelli is getting better and that defense is killer.  I'd take PSU all day on that one.

I might would pull the trigger on GT -7 at home against Boston College.
I really like Cincinnati -8.5 over Miami University.  No Bradon Murphy?  Ouch.
Utah isn't the same without Brain Johnson.  No RB either.  Utah lost as a touchdown home favorite last week.
I'm taking UCLA -14.
I like Vanderbilt -5 at home against Ole Miss.  Ole Miss has flopped twice this year.
Texas -18.5 is a nice one against UCF.

An off the board one...

ULM +23.5
at Texas A&M.  ULM played Clemson tough last week while TAMU had a tough game with Fresno.

I think I am taking Cincinnati, Texas, and UCLA.

I'd be with you on the Penn State thing, if Morreli wasn't  Casey Dick given multiple routes to chose from (sideways shot here at the program I suppose)-- and if his INTs didnt' have a pesky habit of ending up as 6 points for the opposition (I've been burned 3 times by Morrelli); he's been 'getting better and better' for years now.

Great call on Cincinnati, btw-  after watching their game with Oregon State twice, I came away thinking they easily have the best defense in the Big Least.

usc - the points.  lock
akron + the points should also be good.
also indy -7 playing tn on Sunday nfl action.
ok st also looks like a solid pick minus the points against troy.

I specifically remember the Titans giving Indy fits last year.  I dont like that bet AT ALL.

You are absolutely correct on TN giving them fits.  I don't think however they will rush for over 300 against indy like they did last week against JAX.  And Vince will have to do a ton better than the 78 yrds he put up through the air last week.  So not only do I stand by my pick I think it will be indy in a rout.  Already bet it actually.  I could be wrong and have before, but fairly confident in this pick.

I'll take the advice and bet on it.  The only confident bet I have made this week is Cinn -9 over Miami.  Cinn can put some points up mainly cause they have almost all their starters back.  If they can beat a pac10 team by 40, surely they can beat their rival by 10 (when the rivals Senior RB is out).

You might also take a look at UCONN (-29) at home vs a terrible Temple team.  Just my opinion, but UCONN is averaging just over 40 pts per game while Temple is giving up 36 per game and scoring only 13 (against Navy and Buffalo). UCONN rolls 42-6, IMHO.

Quote from: Michael11 on September 11, 2007, 12:32:43 pmI also like Oklahoma State

Guys, I'd stay away from Oklahoma State.  They have QB issues.  I'm really expecting Troy to beat them.  Troy WILL score on them and OSU's offense isn't as good as the preseason hype.

Nice pat on the back. (from yourself)

good call.

USC will cover 12 points against Nebraska...that's alot.  Petie knows he needs to run the score up.  He doesn't want to lose anymore first place votes to LSU.

I want ur picks this week, u have been right on just about all ur games so far. +$$$

Why is a thread that hasn't been commented on since Sept. 11 still on
the front page?

We are having our normal "Tuesday Follow Up From the Previous Week's Plays" meeting.

I went 3-0 last week with FL, USC and Mich.

Here are my picks this week, trying for a 6-0 start to the season.

Alabama -3 over Georgia (as close to a lock as I can find this week, GA has not been impressive at all, and AL, well we know what they are capable of)
Florida -21 over Ole Miss (I know that is a lot of points but FL has done it to everyone they have played so far)
Penn State -3 over Michigan  (1 win over a rock bottom Notre Dame in no way means Mich is back and Penn State has been solid so far this season)

Only time will tell....

Well my Texas pick stank it up.
They officially suck.

VT rolled.

Officially I'm 1-1

I did also note ND and ULM both of which were handed their asses.
Not a good week over all.

Yeah--   I was a little worried for you on the Virginia Tech call-- they covered by a half point, and even then, they didn't reach the cover point until midway through the 4th.
What did you think of Texas? Should OU be licking ther chops?
I haven't seen anybody in the BIG 12 that was very impressive outside of OU.

I warned you about Texas.   If the Big 12 wasn't substandard, they'd be a 3 or 4 loss team this year.  I always enjoy betting on T. Tech, and Kansas is a great team for point spreads.  Of course, I'm going against my own advice with my picks of the week, and taking Penn State and Anthony Morelli;  talk about a way to gaurantee a loss--  I'm 0-7 the past 3 years when betting PSU.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

Your FCS over FBS games:
McNeese State over UL-Lafayette.
Nicholls State over Nevada.  Doubt that one since they go to Nevada.
Deleware State over Kent?  Another one that likely won't happen, but would be funny.

I didn't do well in this thread, but I did nail one of those three.  8)

If I've learned ANYTHING form pro wrestling (or HDN) it is this:

Never, under any circumstances, pass on an opportunity to put yourself over.

Well like I said USC was a gimmie pick.  Won the Michigan Game big.  Won the Tulsa game big.  Then I turned around and stunk it  up on Sunday playing three favorites early.  Hit steelers minus the 10.  Freaking Bengals and Colts both kicked my fanny.  How in the hell does cincy give up over 50 pts to Cleveland.  jeez.  Did do well with the Pats and Chargers though.  All and all a solid weekend on head up pics.   Glad I avoided OK ST.  I almost bet them just because they were the only game on, but would have lost it for sure.  No way I would have taken Troy.  Oh crap almost forgot.  I also lost the Akron game.  Had the zips plus the points.
Let's make some waves.

I made my largest bet on Cincinnati and Florida last week and both covered with no problems.

So far this week, I would bet my entire year on two games.......

Kentucky +7 at Arkansas
Texas Tech -3.5 v. Oklahoma St.

I also like LSU covering the 16.5 against S. Carolina.

I am going to add to this post....  people will b!tch and moan about me betting the house on Kentucky.  Anyone here attend the game in 2002?  I did.  But if you say history doesnt matter, I will tell you that Kentucky can put up more points than us and they can do it faster.

DMAC and Felix may run wild, but what happens when they are petered out in the 4th from 30 carries a piece and Woodson is hitting 40+ yard bombs???

Kentucky +7, no shame.

I dunno if I will bet the Arkansas game, but rest assured if I do my moeny will be on kentucky plus the points.  I mean heck if we even get a marginal lead we all know HDN will sit on it like It's a cork and he has the runs..
