Alabama -3  What a joke!  Coach for life only getting three pts on the road.  Sabin will gear up to stop the run and he has the horses to stop it.  Sure hope that promised passing game shows up this weekend.  Roll Tide

USC -12 at Lincoln.  Three words on USC!  Speed Speed and more Speed.  Any thoughts or additions.

FayettenamVeteran

Penn State -34.5 vs Buffalo

Kentucky +6.5 vs Louisville ( if the over / under is <60 I'd take it )

locks in bold

Apathy

Vandy -5 at home v. Mississippi.  Vandy will get their shiite together this weekend and win by 10+.

you are rediculous if you think bama will stop the run.  his \"dogs\" happen to be one of the worst d lines in the sec.

The whole post is a joke.  If you're rooting for Alabama, what're you doing on an Arkansas board?  It's become quite acceptable to root for opposing teams of late.  What is wrong with you people?
Never argue with an idiot.  They'll pull you down to their level; then beat you to death with their experience.

The Bama game will be a run off, and it just happens that we have the better backs. we win by two scores.

It's not ridiculous to think Bama can stop the run when you consider they don't have to worry about a vertical passing game...unless they are forced to.  We know that won't happen, so Bama will focus on stopping the run.  Whether they do or not remains to be seen.  However, Alabama and Defense are synonymous and I wouldn't write their DLine off just yet.

This will be a fun game to watch in terms of play calls / adjustments by the coaching staffs.  I hope Arkansas can pull it out.

no, their d line is horrible.  they run a 3-4 and their is no way mcfadden doesnt make it to the 2nd level.  hillis throws a block here and there, dmac runs past the leglocked safety and hes gone.  a 3-4 defense with well below average talent can not stop these runningbacks.

BYU -7 over Tulsa.  BYU is a lock -- bet the farm, they're going to crush Tulsa by 3 TDs at least.

OU -46 over Utah St.  After the last couple of weeks, I'd want in on that bet.  I'd be surprised if Utah St scores.

WILL CLINTON

Right now the best bet on the board is

Akron +13 vs. Indiana

Akron only lost by 17 AT Ohio St. last week.  Look for Akron to keep this one close, and maybe pull out the win...

Also, VERY, VERY, VERY early leans on

Toledo +21.5 vs. Kansas (Kansas is horrible)
Florida St -4 vs. Colorado (Florida St. is bad, but they still have better athletes and coaching)
East Carolina +1 vs. Spouthern Miss (East Carolina is better than most people give them credit for)
UTEP +6.5 vs. New Mexico St. (Look for UTEP to win this outright)
There is no sacred ground for the conquered.

Horrible to the tune of outscoring opponents 114-7 this year-- and before you go off on competition faced, its not like they're playing Ohio State this weekend, either.

Hey guys... thought I should put my 2 cents in and let you know I am $700 plus after 2 weeks and have hit around 71% of my games.  A good gambler makes about 57% so I am hot this year!!!!!

Here are my thoughts....
*Take the over on WVU Thursday night.  They have a huge history of running it up on Thursday nights to impress voters since they have the national audience.
*Oklahoma St easily covers the 11.5 Friday night against Troy.
*I agree on Penn St. but I wont bet, Buffalo put up alot of points last week and don't be suprised to see Joe Pa take the starters out.
*Florida -8 over Tennessee.  I dont care who is hurt for Florida, Urban Meyer isnt gonna let this one be close and Tenn doesnt have the horses.
*OU and the over, bet with huge confidence there.
*Utah +14.5 to cover against UCLA, UCLA has covered 2 weeks in a row and they are 0-7 ATS after that happens the last 7 times.
*Oh yes, I like Akron too.
*Kent/Lousiville...  take the OVER.  I have never seen an Over above 80.  These two will eclipse 80.
*Arizona St. -29 over SDSU.  Maybe wait for the line to come to 28, if not, dont bet.
*Take LSU no matter the spread (i think 41 right now).  Their second string can make that 41 cover and NOBODY is scoring more than 7 against that defense.

Crazy Picks that I know will go right!!!!
*Iowa St. and the 17.5 covering against Iowa.  This is always close no matter the records and Iowa is 1-8 ATS after home wins in the past 2 years.
*Washington +4 over Ohio St.  No stats to back it up,  I just have a feeling the OSU D doesnt have an answer for that Locker kid, and the game is at Washington.

Pick of the week????
Arkansas +3 over Alabama.
Alabama is 2-10 ATS as a home favorite the last 12.  Arkansas is 0-1 against the spread and typically finishes .500 for the year.  Take Arkansas before the line moves to a pick 'em like it did last year.

Arkansas spanks Bama. I will not say we will BTA because using the A word contibuted to me getting kicked off HI. I hope Clay never watches Deadwood or the Sopranos. He will be so shocked. The A word, the spelled oout versions of SOB and PO'd pass netwood standards and practice. I guess Clay never watches network TV this century or goes to a film rated anything but a G.

BEFORE any more of you make a post that a mod will have to remove; consider a couple of things.

1. The author of the post did not make any statement in his post that he is a Razorback fan. By his tag name it's obvious he is a Butch Davis fan, and possibly a fan of UNC. It does seem that he is pulling for Alabama in this game, even though he can't spell the head coaches name correctly (It's Saban, not Sabin).

2. Even though it goes against the flow of the board (or does it lately??) he is entitled to his opinion. If you don't agree with it, then say so...BUT...say so without calling him names, insulting him, etc. If you do, then a mod has to take the time to remove the post, and I can't speak for other mods, but I'd rather spend time posting and reading than having to remove posts that violate the TOS for this forum.

With that said, I disagree with HBD; I don't think Bama's defense has the speed to keep up with the Razorbacks for four quarters. I think the 3-4 defense is not stacked well enough at the line to stop McFadden or Jones; and both should get into the second line of defense quickly at times, and that will give their linebackers and secondary fits.

I'm still not sold on the Razorbacks ability to have a better than average passing game, but I will say this; the little swing passes to Hillis and Williams, as much as I despise them, could work to an advantage this week. When they hit a few of those, and Hillis starts that path and the backers start sneaking out that way to meet him, giving the ball to McFadden or Jones instead will open up some serious running lanes.

I'm sticking with my prediction:

Hogs 31
Bama 21

Hearing God's voice means not listening to the noise of the world around us.

Truthfully guys, I don't like any of those lines.

Maybe, Ou and Penn St. (But damn, look at the points they have to put up.)
Buffalo is maybe the worst team in D1 and Utah st isn't much better.

Look for Kentucky - Louisville to put up about 70 points. What is the O/U?

3kgthog

People, if Sylvester Croom can get his bunch of ragtags to stop the running game then I think Saban and his decent talent can find a way as well. Or did some of ya'll forget how MSU pretty much owned our rushing attack last year? I'd say Bama is a wee bit better.

Conway Cool Daddy

My Locks of the week

Texas -19 C Fla
Texas has really good offense that will not be stopped by C Fla.

VT -20.5 Ohio
Tyrod Thomas starts at QB. he will give the Hokies what they have been missing all season, a decent QB that can run.
This will get ugly if VTs defense wants to make a statement after last weeks debacle in Baton Rouge.

Others of note:

ULM +24 Texas AM.
3 Ots justs wears a team out. It'll be tough for AM to get up for this game after big win last week

ND+7 Mich
Michigans defense just doesn't impress. This could be close if NDs defense plays well and doesn't get hung out by their offense like the last couple of weeks. Is Mike Hart hurt? Even more reason.

Croom's  'ragtags'  were among the best running defenses in the SEC last year, and 37th overall nationally.

THe main thing I'd see about disagreeing on either call is the margin on Kentucky-- that and Anthony Morelli still occasionally throws an inexplicable pass or two that defenders can run back for scores.      I was underwhelmed by PSU's offense, but I think they'll probably eke out the cover.

I wonder how Kentucky has done as a touchdown home dog under Brooks?  Throw in Woodson vs what may be a pretty average Louisville D, ditto for Brohm / Douglas / Urrutia v Kentucky D and I think the makings for a shootout / close game are there.  Combined score in the 70's / 80's.

Any thoughts on these games?

Alabama -3  What a joke!  Coach for life only getting three pts on the road.  Sabin will gear up to stop the run and he has the horses to stop it.  Sure hope that promised passing game shows up this weekend.  Roll Tide

USC -12 at Lincoln.  Three words on USC!  Speed Speed and more Speed.  Any thoughts or additions.

you are rediculous if you think bama will stop the run.  his \"dogs\" happen to be one of the worst d lines in the sec.

what a joke....

LSU, who had the best run defense in the country last year gave up over 300 yards rushing to Arkansas.  If they couldn't stop our running game, what makes you think Bama can?

Arkansas is less of a threat passing this year than last.

Bama will load the box.

The game is at Bama.

Saban > Nutt.

These are reasons that Bama COULD stop / slow Arkansas' running game.....in my post above I said that remains to be seen.

I doubt that.  They will not put 9 in the box.  If they do, it will be DMAC to Rojo all day long.

That's exactly what Arkansas needs to do to win.  Have their run game shut down / slowed by 8-9 in the box thus having their Eric Dickerson clone taking 5 & 7 step drops to throw to an unproven wide receiver.  All day long too.  **SARCASM**...just in case my take is as lost on you as what success you think Arkansas would have if DMac had to pass to NoJo all day long.

Alabama can play Cover 1 Man, load the box and win on Saturday.  Especially with Monk out.

Seems like a lot of points for some very poor offenses.  I'd probably not take any of these games as bets.

Throw out Texas - ASU. First game bugs and an underated ASU squad. Texas scored 27+ points on one of the better defenses in the nation last week.
They will score 50 against C Fla.

VT will not let Ohio score. great field position plus a new Vick like QB will get their offense rolling.
Just a hunch.

Texas turned the ball over repeatedly,  and had to wear out the TCU defense to score; I'm utterly underwhelmed with their performance in the first two weeks, and the way McCoy is playing they may well lose 3 games this year.

Buffalo is not the worst team in D1.  That honor goes to Temple who is at UCONN (-29) this week.

I agree and have a gut feeling about Maryland at home vs. WV.  I also like Cinn to win big at Miami(OH)(+9)

IMHO, ND vs Mich has way too many question marks to make a play on.  If I was betting, I'd take Michigan because they are more talented, experienced and have more (granted they haven't show it yet) leadership.  Still, way too may question marks.  Don't get lured into the big name draw of this game.

OU -46 over Utah St.  After the last couple of weeks, I'd want in on that bet.  I'd be surprised if Utah St scores.

I'd take Tulsa as well, but for me, that would break Rule #1:  never bet a game based on an emotional reason (i.e. Gus).
