Gamecocks have waited nine months to put last year's 7-6 season behind them, and now they get their chance. South Carolina is a three-point favorite over the Tar Heels and the pile of reasons over here to be optimistic about the Gamecocks is about the same size as the pile of reasons to be worried over there.

S. Carolina doesn't look too good. Granted, first game and all, but they look like an SEC East cellar dweller. Either that or UNC is a lot better than folks gave them credit for. I'll go with the former at this point.

Not sharp at all.  Thankful for Vandy and maybe UK and Florida at this point.

Could be the beginning of the end of an era.
