On radio show, White says he doesn't expect Florida to beat Kentucky by 22 again Sat, "I'd take a one-point win and throw a parade."

Jon Rothstein: We'll learn more about Kentucky on Saturday

The wait is over

QuoteCalipari's squad is currently on a five-game winning streak, but those five opponents — LSU, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, and Missouri — have a combined record of 62-62 and none of them will play in the NCAA Tournament.

That won't be the case on Saturday when the Wildcats host Florida (23-5) at Rupp (2 PM ET, CBS). Both teams currently have 13-2 records in SEC play.

Gators have won nine straight games, including a 22-point rout of the Wildcats on Feb. 4th in Gainesville. This team is balanced, confident, and has the look of a potential second-weekend team in March if it gets the right matchup.

Wildcats haven't beaten a team that's a lock to play in the NCAA Tournament since South Carolina on Jan. 21 and the Gamecocks didn't have starting guard PJ Dozier in that game due to injury.

20-6 FTA advantage for Kentucky so far.  I'm not watching.  Is the officiating as one-sided as the boxscore looks?

27-6 is the final edge for Kentucky in free throw attempts.

QuoteLEXINGTON, Ky. – Ah, yes, this is why you do not, under any circumstance, bench Malik Monk. No matter how little he rebounds, how poorly he defends or how awful his shot selection might be at times. Because, as Monk reminded everyone Saturday, he's always just one bucket away from lighting his own fuse.

Thirteenth-ranked Florida was the latest victim vaporized by the awesome power of Monk's nuclear capability: 30 points in the second half of a 76-66 victory for 11th-ranked Kentucky.

"He took the game over. He was amazing. It was probably the best performance against us all year," said Gators coach Mike White, whose team held Monk to just 11 points on 4-of-14 shooting in a rout of the Wildcats on Feb. 4 in Gainesville. "We just didn't do quite as good a job, especially down the stretch."

Florida did a fine job early: Monk had 3 points, 5 turnovers and hit just 1 of 5 shots in the first half of Saturday's rematch. Kentucky coach John Calipari spent most of the first 20 minutes screaming at him from the sideline.

"We were on him to drive, to get fouled," Calipari said...

Understand frustration with FT disparity, but keep in mind, Florida took 30 3s to Kentucky's 14. Kentucky took ball to bakset more. #Gators
