Good luck trying to pinpoint who a candidate for LB coach could be, seems like a difficult task

Yeah I went there.  Honestly guys, judging by CBB history this seems almost impossible to project.  It could be any former DC, LB coach that is out of work.  It could be a DB coach, and push Smith to coaching LB.  He could have ties to anybody on the staff or it could be some up and comer looking to get in the SEC.  Hell I might even apply.

Ok, I know Schiano is a total pipe dream, but having him here for a year or two while he was waiting on the right job, would be awesome.  Give him a mil a year as associate head coach/LB coach and let him go to work.  He's the real deal and would probably be an upgrade over RS.

One would have to consider team/coaching chemistry.  Would Schiano who WAS Robb Smith's Boss at Rutgers and TB, mesh well as a guy under a coach he was the former boss of..  One would hope Professionalism would trump everything else.. but it is a consideration that would have to be evaluated and vetted out if going that route.

CBB is big friends with this guy. His recent success as DC wasn't great. But he did win an NC as a DC with OSU

In the video below at about the 26 min mark. CBB talks about his relationship with Mark Snyder and David Gibbs

Football scoop is the least credible of these coaching rumor sites.

But, Buh would have been our LB coach had he not got the Cal DC job when CBB was first hired

No shock. coach B wanted him to come to Arkansas with him. but he went to Cal to be DC. if coach B wants him. he has to be a hell of a LB's coach. i trust coach B on whoever he hires.

Go young and hungry for less money and shove the extra cash to Robb Smith?

I look forward to the 16 other new threads that will most certainly be created about Randy Shannon in the next few days.

I'd like them to kick the tires on Sal Sunseri.  He is making $200K at FSU.  We could give him a nice bump in pay.

As someone else has stated, with Robb Smith's experience with LBs, it really opens the position we could hire into.  We do not have to focus on a with south or SEC ties either.  The examples are too numerous to count, of coaches with no ties to the area, coming in and tearing it up.

One thing I am supremely confident in is, CBB knows assistants.  He brings in guys that can recruit, develop and coach players.  Another thing is that we will not know who it is until CBB is ready for us to know.

I trust him, too.
We just need to do everything humanly possible to keep Robb Smith here.

Manny Diaz - Former Texas DC (Fired by Brown as a scapegoat) & Miss State DC, Currently DC at La. Tech.

Strong ties to South Florida and could potentially be a replacement as DC if Coach Smith decides to move on. Coached linebackers at both Texas and Miss State.

I've seen some who think he might end up back at Miss St since they lost their DC.

Did they correctly predict the Robb Smith hire last year? Did anyone, for that matter?

They did. They were the first to report it.

Either way, we need some of that $$$ to go to Robb Smith... especially if Chavis is going to be making 1.7 mil at A&M, and Muschamp making well over a mil at Auburn.

Hopefully Randy Shannon won't try and get Jennings to go with him to Florida.

If it were me, I would contact the following, but I don't know if he would be willing to return to the collegiate level due to the recruiting that is required at the collegiate level.

Rex Ryan lol... All joking aside; CBB has always said he keeps a 3-deep for coaches as well. So, I trust his decision.
