Speaking of BP getting it handed to him by GA.  My 11 year old son got going on how Chubb was impressive running folks over and such. So I pulled up some old McFadden videos and let him watch. I'm still smiling at his reaction. He couldn't believe the stiff arms and flat running through some fools.  To be honest watching highlights of him is still impressive even when you remember how good he was.

In the spirit of this thread, I have 2 confessions.

1. I've been somewhat critical of BA this year, although I've also recognized the improvement he's made.  The only critical mistake I noticed last night, however, was when he hurried the throw to Henry in what appeared to be an easy TD (I haven't looked at a replay, though.)  At this time, I think BA is quickly becoming exactly what we need, though.

It's unlikely that he'll be all-SEC next year or be a Heisman candidate, but that's not what we need him to be.  We don't need him to be a great scrambler or to thread needles down the field, either.  What we need is a game manager (ala McElroy) who can extend drives in a slow, methodical fashion that won't garner much praise.  You can't do that if you're throwing 50 yard passes and breaking tackles for 50 yard runs regularly.

2. I've been even more critical of Chaney and I still don't understand, or agree, with many of his decisions.  But I'm beginning to come around on Chaney, because I'm recognizing that the man knows what he's doing.  He has great experience and is probably still trying to work out a few kinks in melding his system with Bielema's.  And while I haven't appreciated the blame directed at our receivers, I can still understand that having better receivers may greatly help.

I still can't get over Derby being our backup last year or BA playing against Missouri this year, but what fan ever agrees 100% with the head coach?
