For those who have been asking about Sam...

Michigan's highest-profile recruit, Cypress (Texas) Cy-Fair running back Sam McGuffie, is staying with the Wolverines.

In an online Rivals.com chat Tuesday at the U.S. Army All-America Game in San Antonio, McGuffie was asked how much he wavered in his oral commitment to Michigan after Lloyd Carr announced his retirement.

"A little bit," he said. "It was mainly because I thought Coach (Fred) Jackson was going to leave. But now I know he's staying, and as long as he stays, I'm there."
