I like Verne. Not sure why so many do not. To each his own, of course....but I would much rather hear his voice than pretty much anyone else during that 3:30 SEC game.

Oh, and from Augusta circa 1986:  "Yes-sir!"

Nessler is a great choice to replace Verne. I have tremendous respect for Brad Nessler. He's about the best broadcaster ESPN had. ESPN is losing what few good quality broadcasters they had. I'm not going to want to listen to any games on ESPN now.
