Hook 'em Hogs

I said 8-5 with a bowl win.  What I saw today made me confident of my pick.  I was stretching it at 7 regular season wins.  I think it's still a stretch but I am a little more confident with Allen and the defense's play.  I still say 8-5.

HogAlum99

I will up my win total by one. I said all along 6-6, but I think we can pull an extra one out. Trying not to get too optimistic b/c that schedule is still brutal. I think maybe we can take down Ole Miss where I didn't think we probably could before today. Hopefully I'm way off and can add a few more to the win total though!

razorjack12

I was thinking 4-5 wins this year.   Now I am thinking 5 or 6.   Rutgers is the most important game on our schedule.

go hogues

I'm going to stay the same and say our ceiling is six wins and our worst is four. We'll win our non cons and beat Auburn and State.

Had LL had decent receivers, that would have been a drastically different game.

Bubba's Bruisers

I predicted 5-7.  If we stay healthy, we have what it takes to get 6 to 7 regular season wins with our schedule.

I had 7-5. Maybe 8-4 now. It would be nice to be pleasantly surprised this year.

I have said 7-5 or 8-4 with luck since I saw the staff assembled (as my post history bears out).  I see no reason to deviate at this point.

I will stick with my 6-6 prediction, and I expected this to be a Hog win, but a much harder fought victory.  I loved the play calling, we revealed nothing except that we can run, and I for one enjoyed the heck out of our running game, that's the way to salt away a football game.  We passed when we needed to, but didnt have to reveal a lot to future opponents.  I loved the passion I saw from the players, the Coaches, and the fans were as active as I've seen in quite awhile.

Doug

I've said 8-4 for regular season all summer.

What I've seen today, offensively, reminds me of the 2009 Hogs, but with a slight tie in to the DMac/Felix era. First true test will be SoMiss, second Rutgers, third TAMU. I reserve the right to change my prediciton to even better. :)

It really is this simple. Unchecked government power leads to corruption, and lack of accountability for it is drastically eroding confidence in our institutions.    aristotle

Southern Miss is going to be dreadful-- they won 1 game last year.  They're replacing a third of their roster, and completely revamping their schemes.   There is no reason for that to be even a remotely competitive game-- they're arguably the worst team on our schedule.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

I said 7-5 and I still think that is where we will end up. Lots of good things happened today, but we still face a murder's row soon. I predicted we would start 4-0, and still think we will. I also think we beat Auburn and the two Miss teams. Good start, but I expected us to handle this team so I am happy but not shocked.

Deep Shoat

If we get to 5-0, all bets are off.  But I still think 7-8 regular season wins.

Samford is the most important game on our schedule currently.

I'm still sticking on 6-6.  I want to see how they do on the road at Rutgers.  Tonight was a pretty good showing.  Just hope the defense can stay healthy.

3kgthog

Sticking with 6-6. This defense is still pretty weak and that does not surprise me at all.

hogcard1964

I predicted 8-4 and and I'm sticking to it.  The first real test will be in week 5 vs. A & M.  If we happen to knock them off (and we can), the sky's the limit.

HogFanatic

I got us 9-3.
Holding.
The only thing that would change at this point are my scores.

Up from 5 to 6 now and I see 7 possible. A&M looked awful on D, even if they had suspensions.  I think that could be our one jump up and surprise game.

I said anywhere from 4 to 9 wins. Based on what I saw today, I see some evidence to stretch that to 6-9 wins.

I think this team goes bowling--and maybe even to a halfway decent one.

311Hog

hard to tell, lots of true freshman played today.  we had more penalties and a turnover that wont fly in conference 4 false starts i think? that is to many.  We look very talented though and organized so i still think we have a winning season how good i dont know and i cannot predict.  but the vanilla offensive balance was there today and our defense seemed sound played the ball in the air alot i liked that.

if only Hines had some hands =)

Started with 8-4 and no change.

We'll improve from todays performance, and we will need to for SEC play.

Very efficient today. A good first game. CBB is a winner.

I said before anywhere from 6-6 to 8-4. After today's performance I am shifting closer to 8-4. Still very early in the year but I am very encouraged by what I saw today.
GO HOGS!!!!!!

I really didn't make one, just didn't have a clue. Now I  predicting a fun and exciting year however many games we win.

I'm still thinking 6 or 7 wins. I was very happy with the win and what I saw as domination.

Reading another thread and something hit me- posted by 12247, and agree, the coaching staff and team were ready to play.

I said 8 regular season wins with the chance to win 9 should the ball bounce just the right way for us at a key moment in this season. I'll stick by that. This was a great way to start the season but the next goal is 2-0.

First true test will be SoMiss?  The same SoMiss that just lost to Texas State, and has lost 13 games in a row?  Come on.  No way you can say they are better than ULL.

Arkfan

I said 7 maybe 8 wins and Im staying with it.

I realize they didnt play an SEC team yesterday but you can win ALOT of ball games if you can get the running game going like they did yesterday.

I totally agree.. Rutgers has some real talent on offense. Defense.....meh. that being said, if our defense can play like they did in the second half yesterday, I think we can win by 10.

A win versus Louisiana is nothing to get up in arms about. The first four games were supposed to be guaranteed wins.
