How much do you want to spend? You can stay in Pattaya and do your diving and a wide variety of other fun stuff to do and see. Or you could go to Phuket and spend more get less but better quality. If you want some recommendations about Thailand, let me know and I'll pm you some ideas. Chiang Mai is a wonderful place.

Fights at lumpinee.  I went to the old one a few times in the early 90's.  The new one is supposed to be nice.

I just got back from Cebu and had a great time   just be aware that if you fly from Manila to another city in the PI they will kill you on costs for excess luggage by weight.   Are you by yourself??   Is this your 1st trip to that area???

Friends tell me that Puerto Galera is really good for diving and Bohol is also great.  If your plans include Bohol (which is near Cebu) I can help you some.  Also near Subic is good for wreck diving per my sources.

If you go to Bali, make sure you stay here for at least a couple nights: http://villacampuhan.com. I've been all over the world and it's my favorite place I've ever stayed. Owned by film director Rob Cohen and built as a set for the film "Alex Cross".
Sidenote:DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME GOING TO KUTA BEACH. BYPASS IT ENTIRELY.
