4-star PG Trent Perry decommits from USC

Los Angeles (Calif.) Harvard Westlake four-star point guard Trent Perry has decommitted from USC, according to ESPN's Jonathan Givony.

Perry's decision comes after Trojans head coach Andy Enfield left the program to take the open job at SMU earlier this week.

The 6-foot-4, 175-pounder committed to USC in October 2023 over offers from Colorado, Stanford, Oregon and a number of other programs. He signed with the Trojans in November but will now be requesting a release from his National Letter of Intent and re-opening his recruitment.

USC 4-star SG signee Liam Campbell requests NLI release from Trojans

Liam Campbell will not be headed to Los Angeles after all. The 6-foot-4 shooting guard out of Owyhee High School (ID) has requested to be released from his National Letter of Intent (NLI) to USC and will reopen his recruitment. The news comes after former USC head coach Andy Enfield accepted the opening at SMU.

"Due to the announcement of Coach Enfield's departure, I have decided to request a release from my NLI and re-open my recruitment," Campbell said in a statement to On3. "Thank you to Coach Enfield, Capko, Mobley, Morris, Farmer, Karis, Swets and all the Trojan staff and family for welcoming me with open arms and believing in me. 

"I will continue to put in the work and play with passion for the game I love and see where it takes me.  I look forward to finding a good fit where I can develop as a player while keeping USC as an option."

The four-star senior committed to the Trojans in September and signed his NLI during the early period in November. He ultimately chose USC over St. Mary's, Santa Clara, Utah State, Washington State, Stanford, and others.

Liam Campbell is the No. 110 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle. He's also the No. 23 shooting guard prospect.

The 6-foot-7 small forward out of Corner Canyon (UT) has requested to be released from his National Letter of Intent (NLI) to USC and will reopen his recruitment. Brody Kozlowski is the No. 100 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle. He's also the No. 35 small forward.

USA Basketball Junior National Team April Minicamp: Day 3 Top Performers

Phoenix, Arizona – On Day three of the USA Basketball Junior National Team April Minicamp, the field of players was cut in half. The class of 2025 players had an off-site scrimmage. I stayed in the gym with the class of 2026 and 2027 participants, gathering a better feel for the younger classes.

This is the final day of the camp. Here are the top performers from Day three:

On3 MVP: 4-star PG DeRon Rippey (2026)
Even when sharing a court with top-tier athletes, DeRon Rippey's explosion pops. What could be a reason for the noticeable burst is the pace at which he plays. Listed at 6-foot-1, he touches the paint at will.

2. 4-star SG Jason Crowe (2026)
The scoring ability of Jason Crowe Jr. is hard to deny. The lefty guard has a smooth floor game as he probes in the half-cour

3. 4-star SF Elijah Williams (2026)
Elijah Williams made his mark today because he was confidently knocking down jump shots. When he is not doing that, he can get a little lost in the shuffle, but he becomes a real weapon as a 6-foot-6 floor spacer.

4. 4-star SG Jayden Hodge (2026)
Jayden Hodge has good positional size with a frame that looks like he can put on some good weight without losing much athletically. His feel is what popped for him today. Through the previous two sessions, Hodge had flashes but played more comfortably as a connector.

5. 4-star SF Jalen Montonati (2026)
Jalen Montonati is a noted shooter and a veteran of the USA Basketball program, having played for the Junior National Team in the u16 FIBA Americas Championships last summer. Today, what stood out for Montonati was his off-ball cutting. The 6-foot-6 wing still knocked down some tough, contested shots, but he moved well off the ball, putting pressure on the rim with his cutting.

4-star SF Cam Holmes (2026) gave a clean performance today.

4-star PF Davion Adkins (2026) has been a breakout performer from the week.

4-star SG Brandon Bass Jr. (2026) is a confident scoring guard. The 6-foot-3 Bass has a good frame, is lengthy with projectability

4-star G Jacob Lanier (2026) has good size for a guard and was comfortable today playing on or off the ball

C Darius Wabbington (2027) is listed at 6-foot-9 and he plays every bit of that size.

SG Jordan Page (2027) had a nice showing today, getting into the mid-range and finishing a couple of creative opportunities around the basket. Page is a 6-foot-4 guard/wing and one of the youngest players in the event.

4-star CG Junior County (2026) had a connecting feel today. A secondary ball handler who was comfortable playing off a lead guard.

Auburn guard Aden Holloway enters NCAA transfer portal

Auburn guard Aden Holloway has entered the NCAA transfer portal according to On3's Pete Nakos.

Holloway parts ways with the Auburn program following just one lone season with the Tigers after being the top recruit in Bruce Pearl's 2023 signing class.

In his true freshman season Holloway earned a spot on the SEC All-Freshman Team after appearing in 35 games and making 26 starts for the Tigers.

Notably scoring a career-high 24 points in a dominant win over Indiana at Holiday Hoopsgiving in Atlanta.

"Aden is a special winner. He has a high basketball IQ and the unique ability to create for himself and others. People just love playing with him," Pearl said regarding Holloway.

Holloway is a Charlotte, North Carolina native but played high school hoops at Prolific Prep in Napa (CA) where he was a four-star prospect, ranked the No. 18 overall recruit and the No. 2 combo guard in the 2023 cycle.

6-foot-1, 178-pound guard was the sixth-ever McDonald's All-American to join Auburn in school history and is now the eighth former McDonald's All-American to enter the transfer portal across the country this offseason.

1. Alabama: Milroe and G Mark Sears. Sears is 1 of the best 3 players in the SEC, and Milroe was arguably the best player in the SEC by the end of last season.

2. Tennessee: Edge James Pearce and G Dalton Knecht. The ceiling for both is tremendous. Pearce is primed for a big season in 2024, and Knecht could be the first college player selected in the NBA Draft.

3. Missouri: WR Luther Burden III and G Sean East II. The most exciting player in the SEC, and the most underrated player in the SEC. We know all about Burden; watch East play — just an unreal game.

6. Kentucky: DT Deone Walker and G Antonio Reeves. Walker had breakout season in 2023, and could be the SEC's best interior lineman in 2024. If it weren't for Knecht, Reeves would be SEC POY.

14. Arkansas: DE Landon Jackson and G Tramon Mark (Houston transfer). Hogs got a huge lift for the pass rush when Jackson decided to return for the 2024 season. Mark never found it in 3 years at Houston, but he's there now — his average improving by 6 points.

Wildcats star Aaron Bradshaw entered the Transfer Portal shortly following the news that head coach John Calipari would be leaving for the Arkansas Razorbacks.

"I don't think he's a lock to follow Cal," Jeff Borzello said.

Aaron Bradshaw is a 7-foot-1 big man and native of New Jersey. He was a five-star recruit in the Class of 2023. McDonald's All-American, he was also the top-ranked center in that cycle and the fourth-ranked player overall.

Aaron Bradshaw did flash what makes him special at times throughout the season. At one point, he was even named the SEC Freshman of the Week.

He does expect Arkansas to be interested in bringing in Bradshaw.

"I think he's going to have his choice of suitors," Borzello said.

Father of Reed Sheppard confirms new Kentucky coach Mark Pope has been in contact

Mark Pope is officially the next head coach at Kentucky. Now, for Reed Sheppard, he has a decision to make after that hire based on how much it may impact his basketball future.

Jeff Sheppard spoke on ESPN Lexington on Friday about the hiring of Pope, who was his former college teammate and roommate. With his old friend taking over the program, it's news that his family, specially his son, Reed, will be mulling over as far as options for what's next after his freshman season with the Wildcats under John Calipari.

It's *hard* to find players in that 6-7/6-8 range who can do as many things as Josiah-Jordan James did on both ends of the floor for Tennessee. Really important role, and not many guys physically can do it.
