Construction crews have begun tearing down the old Baum scoreboard. It will be same size as the old structure, but all video.

Old is now gone. Not sure what the new one is to look like. But I try to do some drive by pictures in the next weeks

Are they getting ready to build seats in the Outfield area?

I'll honestly be shocked if CMA ever goes above .500 in conference play as coach here.

I drove by and saw it today. It is huge.

But it's the same size that it was before...

Look at the very top picture.. Then look at the bottom.

The new board is all ONE board as opposed to the tiles you see in the first picture with a small board in the center.

No, the screen part of it is much larger.

Not sure how you gather that, but whatever.

The actual screen size is probably 4-5 times as big as the old one.

Because the structure is the same size, I suppose it is confusing.

Has anyone ever mentioned having large metal razorbacks covering the beams on each side that hold up the netting behind home plate? The razorbacks could be made to look like they are holding the netting in their mouths.

I hope they restore and repaint the exposed beams holding the backstop.  Noticed quite a bit of rust on them in August.

In a story on the Arkansas website, the new screen is something like 1400-1500% larger than the old screen. The old screen was only like 110 square feet and this new screen is over 1500 square feet. Going to be a huge change.

Yeah, just saw the old one was 116 square feet, and the new one is 1775 square feet. Old one was 8' x 14.5' and the new one is 25' x 71'

Just drove by and it looks like they were testing the at bat display on the screen.  The amount of stats and info they can fit on the screen is impressive.

It will really help enhance the fan experience at the park.  Like spe said, they will be able to fit a lot on that board.

One thing I am excited about with the new board is that they will display a pitch radar which is something I have wanted for years.  I think it also helps the casual fan see just how talented a lot of our guys are.

It will be interesting to see the typical setup.  Will the normal setup be similar to what it has been in previous years or how will they change things up?  Now, I do think they will show full screen replays and walk up stuff, but when the game is going on, it will be interesting to see how it is setup.

No coach on campus deserves it more than DVH. He's built a consistent winner that has given us a shot to win it all on multiple occassions. That's all you can ask for.

I just hope the thing isn't so massive that it distracts our batters or other players. Surely a non-distracting image will be up during play.

That new scoreboard is Bad A**! The baseball hogs and CDVH are Bad A**! Arkansas is bad A**! U of A is a freaking hidden Gem, and if people ever truly discover it they fall in love with the place. NWA has to be one of the best places to live (work and play) in the good ole USA.
