If I get hurt, he'll keep me on scholarship?  That was the recruiting pitch that got him?  Geesh

LOL!!! As is if any coach would pull his scholarship if got hurt bad enough that he couldn't play anymore.  That kid just doesn't seem too smart.

Counting Battle, I think this brings them up to 32 commits on Rivals.  I have never seen that many in one class...

farhan

Didnt we go have to EJ first? Then nutt got on him after? or am I wrong?

And believeing Coach Nutt would actually keep that promise makes him a bigger dummy.  I can see the kid wanting an assurance though because with all the blocking he'll be doing you never know when a D lineman may roll into the side of your knee.

"He said if I get hurt, he would still keep me on scholarship. He is going to help me get my degree. Those were big, important things for me."

WOW.  I guess you guys picked out the line that I was going to focus on as well.  Has he qualified yet?

Well if Nutt is his tutor, he should qualify by the time he is 50.
LoL.  Depends on the degree.  I hear Houston is a star in the telecommunications area.

If this kid is beleiving the Nuttster it shows us all why he'll probably never qualify.

Lets see if he keeps that promise. Houston will drop his scholly so fast it will make his head spin if he gets hurt and can't play.

That's out of Nutt's hands no university would pull a kids scholarship because of an on the field injury. Apparently EJ is running low on common sense.

How many of these kids are not going to qualify or are they going to grayshirt a few of them?

Or he no longer had an offer.  That's my guess.

3 of them signed at semester so that means that those guys can count towards last year's class - assuming that Ole Miss didn't have more than 22 guys qualify last year (knowing Orgeron, they didn't have more than 22 qualify last year).  Thus, only 29 are counted toward this year's class.  If all of them sign with Ole Miss tomorrow, 4 will either not qualify or have to grayshirt.  However, I'm guessing that a few are planning on going elsewhere and Hooters already knows it.

Nutt uses an etch a sketch to sign the players, so when the media asks to see the signatures, he shakes it and hands it to them

He should ask some former players if Nutt followed through on that promise every single time at Arkansas.

JIHawg

Notice how this press release is glorifying Coach Nutt, not Ol Ms.  It's all about Nutt, Nutt, Nutt.

I'm sure glad we don't have to put up with this crap any more.

Ask D. Williams - "EJ, if you get hurt - you'll definitely get to keep your scholarship.  Oh, did I mention that you'll have your injury misdiagnosed and you will have to play through it?  Well, regardless, you will keep that scholly."

He's now listed as a soft verbal on Rivals and it has been reported on other boards that he is going to Ole Miss...also don't get on to me about copyright infringement - I'm not a member at Rivals or Scout and am just repeating what others have said.

How appropriate that when I looked at this article there was an ad for a company selling used cars.

Orgeron had 36 with them in his first year.  The philosophy at Ole Myth is apparently, "Sign 20 and 10 stick" because they get so many Juco's.

hog_fan

battle has been soft verbal for awhile on scout and everytime i hcecked was soft on rivals. Guess we willallknow tomorrow

Bobby Knight quit because Nutt kept giving him advice on recruiting

Don't know why but that made me snicker. +1

The Realist

I actually feel sorry for Epperson.  It's clear he is being misled by people who are supposed to be helping him out.  Those people are supposed to tell him whats important when he is choosing a school.  It's clear he isn't.  He clearly wasn't used to the attention and didn't know how to handle it.  Feel he made a rash decision based on fuzzy reasoning.  Hope he has a great career at Arkansas because I don't want anyone to look back regretting things regardless of what school.

I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't read it. Does the kid honestly think Petrino wouldn't honor his scholarship if he got hurt?

From what I've read about the recruitment of DeAnthony Curtis, dirty recruiting practices were being used against Arkansas by OSU and Ole Myth (but especially OSU), so I'm pretty confident that Nutt and co. probably painted an ugly picture of our new coaching staff and apparently the kid bought it.

Wish Epperson luck, because he's certainly going to need it playing for the Car Mart King.
Bobby's back and he ain't here to paint!

Hope you like blocking and getting 1-2 passes thrown your way ALL YEAR! Best of luck EJ, you're gonna need it playing for that lying, conniving POS!

LR Hog

I guess this kid likes to block because he isn't going to see a pass for 4 or 5 years.

That doesn't surprise me.

Good luck to Epperson. Practice your run blocking skills, EJ.

Good luck to Kye Staley as well. Here's to you and your OSU team getting trounced every year by Texas and Oklahoma.
