Iowa is terrible.  Ferentz is HDN-North.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

They did beat 5th ranked Penn State last week.  I guess it is the Big 10 though...

Yeah we're playing very average.   Iowa is helping us out quite a bit

they are not the #13 team in the country as even most ASU fans said this week

Hooten beat a top ranked LSU a few times.  He took out a highly ranked Tennessee once or twice, too.

Iowa is an annual fraud.  How they justify paying Ferentz over 3 million a year to win 7-9 games is beyond me.

Iowa at 13 is ridiculous, even before this horrible game.

We dont.   We develop all our kickers.   our starting place kicker had a high school career long of 28 yards...

Then again, we don't have much in the way of perspective.  The first missed FG of the year will provide a lynch mob ready to go after Tejada.

Been impressed.  I don't care what Iowa is ranked....for ASU to go into a hyped-up stadium for the #13 team in the nation in an away game.....impressive...of course that is even more impressive if they win.....

But, you think back and they got beat by Troy....so....there you go.

Good game, good effort.

That burned timeout on 1st and Goal hurt too.  An extra timeout would have helped some.

We dont take moral victories here.   Sure im glad we didnt get embarrased, but a loss is a loss unfortunately

Yeah, but after the three toughest games on the slate, they needed an effort on national TV like this to keep them going for the conference schedule.

So a top 15 resume looks like this...

1.  Two blocked FG's to keep Northern Iowa from beating you at home.
2.  A thumping of the worst team in the Big 12.
3.  A close game against Arizona at home.
4.  Taking down a top 10 team that hasn't beaten anybody of note on the road.
5.  Narrowly escaping the Arkansas St. Politically Incorrects at home.

SOLD.

Btw, I'd love to build a stadium where your opponents can never hit their FGs.  Iowa was smart to do that.

YoMama

Great game Red Wolves.  I wish they had won just so my friend would shut it and stop using 'Iowa' and 'National Championship' in the same sentence every time I talk to him.

Jborohog09

wish that we could have pulled it off, still proud of the way they played though, other than the missed FG and the fumble inside the 25 of Iowa.

SteveInArk

Great news for ASU....  congrats for a strong game.

A-State acquitted itself well on national TV, except for that bonehead stupid retarded selfish what-were-you-thinking celebration penalty.  They don't do that, and maybe make that 26-yd FG, and they win the game.  6 point swing right there in a 3-point game.
Go Hogs, Beat Refs!

Our next game is one of those interactive Tuesday games on ESPN2.   nice exposure for the team.  Even if it does mean dealing with clueless announcers and a bunch of blowhard Big 10 fans smack talking on the ticker

Trust me after dealing with Iowa fans for a week, they have some of the most annoying fans ever.   There fans are actually happy with their performance today saying that the object was to just do enough to win...and still thinking they are national title bound...

Was very impressed with Corey Leonard. Love pulling for the Hogs but it's nice to see your alma mater do well.

NOW, can ASU parlay their good play and toughness into winning the remainder of their conference games. I very much hope so.

Cheifsfan,

Really? Is Roberts and staff on the hot seat? Roberts, like Nutt, got ASU from horrible to pretty good.

I live here in town and have spoken with Leonard. He says it THIS year or bust for ASU.

I'm fortunate to have both schools as Alma Maters :)

It does look like Roberts has learned his clock management from Houston Nutt, but other than that, I like this Red Wolves team.  Have thought for years that the Hogs and ASU should open the season every year at War Memorial in LR.  This particular team just might hang a loss on the Pigs.  But 90 percent of the time, that would not happen.

Same here. Leonard channeling Tebow a bit with those two jump passes. Lol.   Once again, tho, we see just how important special teams can be.

I go to school at Iowa and I was at the game, and I haven't heard one person talk about any chances of a national championship.  Lots of Rose Bowl talk, but it's not like winning the Big Ten is really a big accomplishment.  Of course, it means a whole lot more than winning the frikken Sunbelt!

Most Iowa fans I know aren't convinced yet that we're a good team.  But they're sure as hell happy to be 5-0.

yeah he is on the hotseat.  Trust me  we're thrilled with where he's gotten us.   but the problem is that after getting us to a bowl 4 years ago.  we've been inconsistant since.   just way too many 6-6 finishes for the fans.  Every season seems to come down to the lasxt game of the year to see if we make a bowl and we always seem to lose

it would be like Nutt if lets say Arkansas went in and not only had those bad losses to Vandy and such...but lost a ton of close games in november where a win is a bowl game

Just a big hump we cant seem to climb and in the end we've got an athletic program thats really being run by our chancellor now, and he is very adimant about getting ASU to the point that we are expected to be a bowl team almost every season

the ones that came and posted on our message board have been bad.    One tried to justify how good they were with the "Northern Iowa is a great team argument"  and got roasted for it

It's funny how a person on an Iowa fan said that they would win 10 games in the SEC, I was like " Child Please" They are to to to to slow.

Don't forget the consistent 2-4 finishes to what, 6 of 7 seasons?

The really frustrating thing with Roberts is that we'll beat A&M at Kyle, hang with #13 Iowa, then get our doors blown off at MTSU.

El Puerco Grande

Roberts is a great guy and a good D-2 coach.  I can't imagine ASU ever being a player in D-1, and I live in Jonesboro.
How 'bout them hogs?

This isn't realistic for ASU.  At best 2 SBC teams will make it to a bowl game every year.  As long as ASU plays money games they will never finish with a winning record OOC.  In conference there is nothing that makes ASU stand out over the other SBC schools.

I doubt we'll ever see a day when ASU is a 8 win team every year.
