The full court uptempo game is not outdated, it's the way MA goes about it. Nolan, Pitino and Huggins press to cause turnovers and to make their opponent uncomfortable. MA does to speed the other team up.  Nolan's teams reached but moved their feet. MA's teams lack defensive fundamentals.

His style isn't changing. And he's not going to be fired for finishing middle of the pack. It would take no tournament this year and a crash the 1-2 years. Otherwise, the buyout would be stupid high. 2020 or 2021. That's the earliest he could possibly go. His current contract is through 2022. But I think he probably stays until he wants to leave. Unless ticket sales slump significantly.
