  • Iím sure only bible verses are being shared at Benís Apartment! My issue with Jeff Long is based on hiring Bielema after BP! If you fire someone because of questionable character, donít replace him with someone with questionable character!

So you put cheating on a spouse and lying about it on the same level as drinking too much?
  • #102 by hoglady on 14 Nov 2017
  • Most of those who would appear to be outraged about it are the ones you see going through the drive thru lane while you are inside paying for your 6-pack.

I used to work with a guy that was a strict Baptist - only time he'd drink in public was on vacation- didn't want anyone to know from his church that he occasionally had a drink.

I am Catholic plus raised in Louisiana - so I never have quite grasped that concept.

Although, I do think a football coach probably shouldn't be hanging out at the college bars - hang out at the country club or something.

  • 100% correct. Throughout his career with the Badgers, he was all over the campus bar scene in Madison and wasnít shy around the coeds. During my brotherís 4 years at UW, we saw him out on a Saturday night too many times to recall. A buddy of mine, Tyler Donovan, played QB for Bert and the stories...well, sh*t is crazy.

So much for Long back ground check.....

  • Where the music stinks, and they water the drinks, the nudie bar.
Where the girlies dance in their underpants, the nudie bar.
Where you see their butt, and their trap stays shut, at the nudie bar.

Where you can't touch a breast, but you can cave in a chest, at the nudie bar.
Where you look at a thigh, and blacken an eye, at the nudie bar.
Where the beer gives you gas, but the Bundy's kick ass, at the nudie bar.

Where Christmas is nice, and lap dances are half price, at the nudie bar.
Where you drink down the shooters, and unwrap the hooters, at the nudie bar.
Where eggnogs are plenty, and the girls all twenty, at the nudie bar.

  • On one hand you say "I'm not saying that's what is happening", then on the other you say you "hope he finds some kind of help". Why would he need help if he isn't going overboard with having a good time? He is a grown man, if he wants to go out every now and then, as you say at the beginning, and tie one on....absolutely nothing wrong with that. If he and his staff want to meet, have a couple of drinks to talk things through, nothing wrong with that.

I shouldíve said if that is what is happening I hope he gets some kind of help/balance. If he wants to go have a good time, I donít see anything wrong with that. Hell, I still put together a pretty good performance most Saturdayís myself. Iím the last person in the world whoís going to fault someone for over indulging every now and then. But if it has become a nightly thing, or if it has hindered his ability to do his job, I think we can all say we hope he gets that figured out for himself and his future career.

They donít know because they havenít been there and everyone in this thread that has said theyíve seen Bielema out on the town wasted is full of darn.
Benís Apartment is generally a little older, more professional crowd. Later 20s to 40s. More ďbusinessĒ gets done there than getting wasted.

  • I donít know if he cheats on his wife or not. But Iíve learned from experience people who hangout at bars tend to make poor choices and yes for awhile I was one of them! So I will reiterate if you fire one coach for character flaws you better not go to wisconsin to hire another one!
Jesus!  Is that you?  Nah, He don't cast no stones.
